Funding & Fees
Morning Session 8.30 - 12.30 £256.00 / Afternoon Session 12.30 - 3.30 £192.00 / All day session 8.30 - 3.30 £448.00.
Flying Start Sawbridgeworth is open daily during term time from 8.30am to 3.30pm except Thursday afternoons and provides care and education for children from the age of 18 months. Currently our fees are based on an hourly rate of £5.05 (subject to change). Termly fees are calculated by multiplying the weekly figure by 38 and dividing by 3. In this way each term will cost the same regardless of the number of weeks in any term. Payment and Government Funding: All families are entitled to claim 15 hours of Early Years Free Entitlement from the term following their child’s third birthday. Some families where both parents are working (or sole parent in the case of lone-parent families) will be able to claim up to 30 hours of funding. Government funding is available for 38 weeks of the year. The government offers financial support to some families to help with childcare costs so some families are entitled to claim funding from the term following their child’s second birthday. We are also registered with the Governments Tax-Free Childcare scheme. We are happy to accept payments from Employer Childcare Voucher schemes in advance. Registration: Complete our application form and return by post or email to secure your child's place at Flying Start. A non-refundable registration fee of £75.00 is payable on completion of the registration form which includes two pieces of Flying Start uniform for your child to wear if they wish. This is non-refundable unless we are unable to offer your child a place or the sessions that you'd like.

Great little nursery where, due to the small class size, the children get plenty of one on one attention. The staff really care about the children and make every effort to aid in their development; we saw great progress in our son during his time there. There’s lots of space for playing and discovering inside and outdoors as well as many activities for the children. We’ll be sending our daughter there when the time comes. Highly recommended!

My daughter attends Flying Starts pre-school and loves it! She cannot wait to go every Friday and has felt comfortable and happy since day 1. The staff is all fabulous and the children all have great fun learning new things.

I sent my three-year-old here feeling quite anxious after six months of lockdown. They made every effort to settle her and were so flexible in doing this gradually so that she was happy to stay. She has grown in skills, confidence, and maturity and I will definitely be sending my toddler there when she is older. I love the focus on creativity and being outdoors and we will miss the staff so much when she moves on to ‘big school’!

The preschool is spacious and bright with lots of things to do. The teachers are very supportive and always think of new activities to engage children, especially termly topic books. My son loves outings to the local farm and is always happy at Flying Start.
Feeling reluctant to let go, I was very apprehensive about sending my daughter to nursery. When she came out with the biggest smile on her face and telling me how she had a great day, I knew we had made the right decision sending her to Flying Start. The staff are all amazing and make such an effort on a personal level with both its children and their parents. She will be sad to leave, but I’m excited to send my son there next year.
My daughter enjoys her stay at the nursery. She always has a happy face once she is back home after a fun filled day at the nursery. I guess it’s down to the wonderful teachers at the nursery and the ideal set up they have for kids to explore and enjoy.
