Darrington CE Primary & Nursery School

Highly recommend Darrington Nursery, the teachers and staff are always polite, professional and engaging with the children. The teachers are very creative with the classroom and outside facilities ensuring educational needs are met whilst making sure activities are always fun and exciting. Both my children attended this nursery, and they always came home excited to tell me about their day.

The nursery at Darrington CE Primary is fantastic! We have had nothing but positive experiences, and my child has had an amazing introduction to the education system. The knowledge and skills she gained from her time in the nursery gave her a head start in advance of joining the reception class. I credit this to all the staff and hard work they do. Thank you to all the team, great job!

There are so many opportunities for learning and exploration, with activities that encourage curiosity, creativity and independence. It's lovely to see how the children are encouraged to learn through play and discover new things. The staff genuinely take the time to get to know each child and support their individual needs and development. We would highly recommend the nursery to other families.

My son absolutely loves it at this nursery. Having been in a previous nursery since last January to the summer and having each morning having the upset of leaving my son so distressed we literally cannot believe the change in him since starting darrington in September. He is always super exited and speaks so lovely and tells us everything about his day. He has already grown into a confident little boy and the changes each day in him are unbelievable. The facilities and the staff are amazing. 5 star nursery without a doubt

The nursery has such a wide range of toys and activities.

Our daughter has attended the nursery for a little over a year now and her transfer from the previous nursery went very smoothly. She is well looked after and enjoys attending each day. The staff are clearly attentive but set boundaries where needed.

My child started here earlier this year and we have been so pleased with the quality of care. It's a really excellent nursery space with lovely staff, and really exceptional play areas both indoor and outdoor. There is such a range of things to do and play with and learn through, and it is absolutely spotless. I've had great communication from all staff here, everyone is so lovely and engaging and care about each individual child. Would highly recommend

He don't like to stay home on holidays ..

My Daughter has been attending Darrington CE nursery since September 2025 and is due to move into reception in September 2026. She has loved her time is Miss Loveday's class. It is a true testament to how good the nursery is that not once has my daughter said she doesn't want to go, and she attends 5 days a week. The experiences she has had there will last her a life time, and she has grown so much thanks to all the wonderful staff at Darrington CE.

Wonderful little nursery. Always go above and beyond for the children, organising little activities for them to do using the children's ideas and creativity. Also visitors for them to learn about the environment around them. Staff are so lovely i feel like my child is well taken care of here. My son is super happy here as am I.

My daughter loves attending the pre school nursery. She's settled so well and loves the routine, loves the teachers and other students and comes home with so many lovely stories from her day. The school and teachers plan such lovely activities for the children to bring their learning to life such as watching ducklings hatch, arranging for a farmer to come to school with his tractor, arranging for a policeman to come with his police car, a bee keeper with a special suit for them to try, special stay and plays where my daughter is excited to show me where she plays and what she enjoys to do at school. She really has flourished and whilst there is a main focus about learning through play which is key there is also focus on preparing my daughter for reception through phonics sounds which she is excited to show us what she has learnt when she comes home.

My daughter absolutely loves going to school and having all the provisions avaipable to her. We have seen a vast improvement in her learning and development since attending and adores the teachers in the classroom

I would recommend Darrington's nursery to any parent. My eldest daughter thrived here, my middle daughter loves it, and I will certainly be sending my youngest once she turns 3 years old. The staff are friendly and very supportive of the children. The facilities and activities are extensive. I love the "stay and play" sessions that parents are invited to attend. The balance of learning and play in this setting is very constructive to the children's development and setting them up for an easier transition into reception. The core nursery hours (8:40 - 3:15) work for my family, which is considerably cheaper than private nursery options, but the extended hours are available as and when we need them. My children really like the breakfast club which starts from 8:10am, and the school also offer special afterschool clubs (e.g. decorating the Christmas tree, and Christmas party).
