Chalkhouse Childcare Services

Chalkhouse is absolutely brilliant- such a great find in a rural setting where the children are beautifully looked after by really caring staff. My son settled on day 1 after I feared tears and clinging and he’s a really happy child after every session. He’s really stimulated, well-fed and looked after and staff make every effort to ensure every day is a happy one. They also keep me really well informed with details about his day and pictures by text. It’s a small and really homely environment with lovely facilities and plenty for the children to do. For me, it’s a much more comfortable choice than a much larger and noisier nursery environment. Couldn’t be happier- thank you to the team.

Chalkhouse Childcare is a wonderfully welcoming setting with staff who are caring and also extremely professional. Our daughter took a little while to settle in the mornings and her keyworker has gone above and beyond to help her get into a good routine. The nursery offers a wide range of activities, tailored to children's interests and all children seem very happy and settled.

A lovely little setting Kidmore End. A small setting meaning everyone knows the children across the 3 different rooms. My son enjoys his time there and enjoys the activities (especially singing and dancing!). Well done Chalkhouse! Keep it up.

The owner and the team are friendly, professional and very attentive to the individual children's needs. They make an effort to get to know the children by name and both my girls have gone there since 10 months old and I am very happy with how they have both developed. The meals are always varied and nutritious and homemade. There is a distinct separation of the young and older children to enable age-appropriate learning. The homely facilities are excellent, with lots of space to play and it's very secure.

I was also pleasantly surprised to discover the nursery was significantly cheaper than many of the other nurseries I'd viewed.

Management work closely with all staff and parents and clearly are very experienced.

They go above and beyond in visual learning and they had chicks that hatched and caterpillars they could watch changing to butterflies. Highly recommended.

This nursery is an utter gem. It is handily located in North Reading, which means you don't have to trudge into town to get decent childcare and get stuck in morning and afternoon traffic. The outdoor space is really lovely and the children have plenty of space to run around. I am impressed by the continued commitment to getting the children involved in different types of activities. The recent visit from a petting zoo was brilliant and I didn't stop hearing about it. The team are caring and attentive to the children and it feels homely.

We are very happy with Chalkhouse Childcare Services. Our son enjoys going and his development has been helped by his attendance. All the staff are lovely and very caring. It is a wonderful setting.

What I like the most about this nursery is the caring atmosphere and nature of the staff. They have helped me settled my daughter in. She loves the hearty lunch time meals and the variety of interaction, playing and learning. Class size is good. I don't know how they manage it, but my daughter always comes home clean and super happy! The garden space is great and the arts and crafts she comes home with are fantastic. I feel it really appeals to her creative nature.

Knowing our granddaughter is happy is critical to us. Management and staff make that a reality. They are warm, friendly, compassionate and friendly. Most important they know our granddaughter well, really well, all her needs, wants, preferences and little foibles. She is encouraged to be the best of herself. Chalkhouse Childcare is a beautiful place for any childs first move away from home towards school.

My daughter has attended Chalkhouse Childcare since she was 6 months old. Now 5 she still attends after school as the environment is like a little family. The staff are well trained, friendly and bring out the best in the children. My daughter has grown in confidence and ability with strong social skills. Another great benefit is the flexibility the nursery provides as a working parent they have been very flexible with timings and provide me with complete peace of mind. My husband and I could not recommend them enough.
