Little Gems is a day care nursery in the grounds of Star of The Sea RC Primary School in Whitley Bay and was established in June 2010. Little Gems offers high-quality care for children from birth to five years of age.

Little Gems offers every child the opportunity to indulge in fun-filled days, with a variety of different activities based around children's needs in order to help every child learn and achieve their next steps and milestones.

During school holidays the nursery remains open and various planned fun activities will take place, as well as the opportunity to go on trips within the local area.

During your child's time at nursery they will take part in adventures outside of nursery such as forest school, visiting the local library, supermarkets and many more.

All children at Little Gems are assigned a key person when starting the nursery, who will ensure that each child is provided age-appropriate activities based around their interests, in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

All children are provided healthy snacks throughout the day and a light evening snack. A healthy pack lunch must be provided for children's lunch when attending for the full day.

All staff are DBS cleared and have appropriate qualifications and first aid as many more training with certificates.

£72.50 (0-2), £70 (3-5) for full day sessions.
Half day Sessions and school wrap around options also available.


We also welcome both 15 & 30 hours funding.

15 hours two year funding is also accepted.
All bills are equated across the year or remaining months of the year to ensure your bill is the same price each month.

Parking

  • There is a huge car park with being located on the school grounds of Star of the Sea primary school. When visiting Little Gems between the hours of 8:30-9:30 & 2:30-4pm it is advised to park in the large car park and not the staff car park as the barrier is closed for the children entering and leaving school.
