Fenwood Nursery in Swinton provides a warm, welcoming and stimulating environment where children can learn, explore and develop through play. The nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), supporting each child as a unique learner and helping them develop across all areas of learning.
Play is at the heart of the nursery's approach. Age-appropriate Baby, Toddler and Pre-School Rooms provide engaging environments where children can investigate, experiment, create and learn through hands-on experiences. Children enjoy a balance of child-led and supported activities, with learning taking place indoors and outdoors each day.
Physical development is encouraged through outdoor play and equipment including scooters, bikes and climbing frames. Professional sports activity coordinators also visit each setting twice a week, providing additional opportunities for exercise, movement and confidence building.
Each child has a designated Key Person who provides continuity, security, and emotional support. Practitioners help children develop communication, independence, and positive relationships while supporting emotional understanding and self-management.
Fenwood Nursery promotes inclusion, equality and respect for every child and family. Dedicated SEND Leads coordinate support for children with additional needs, with individual adaptations and, where appropriate, enhanced staffing.
Healthy eating and positive hygiene habits are part of daily life, with freshly prepared nutritious meals, water and milk provided. Fenwood Nursery was awarded the Healthy Foundations Gold Award in 2021.
The nursery's ethos is centred on providing Endless Opportunities For Every Child Every Day.

About this price
How funding is applied, how the monthly figure is calculated.More info
- Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 51 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
- This nursery applies up to 10 funded hours per day, stretched across 51 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 22.4 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
- We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Others bill weekly, or charge for what happened that week or month, which can vary across the year. Confirm billing details with the nursery when you enquire.
