About this price
How funding is applied, how the monthly figure is calculated.More info
- Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 50 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
- This nursery applies up to 10 funded hours per day, stretched across 50 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 22.8 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
- We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Others bill weekly, or charge for what happened that week or month, which can vary across the year. Confirm billing details with the nursery when you enquire.

The activities are structured, varied and most of all fun and you can see that the team have a real passion for what they do and the children whom they bond with.
The Manager is very hands on and takes the time to get to know all of the children and parents which really adds to the trust that we have with the nursery and the feeling of community and family.
We couldn’t wish for a better environment for our little one to thrive in. It is lovely to have the updates from the team and to see how much they are enjoying the daily outings. We particularly love how the nursery embraces the outdoors with daily outings really making the most of the natural, beautiful surroundings and making sure that the children get plenty of fresh air and exercise.

Both our children have attended Little Cakes Nursery. From the ages of 1.5 - 3years, they attended daily sessions. The learning environment for children is truly outstanding. Learning such important early skills, from language through to counting. Little Cakes encourages independent development, which we have really noticed at home - clearing plates, buttering bread etc. All teachers are caring and kind; they have treated both my children as though they are their own. They have felt loved and nurtured throughout their time at this nursery. And as parents, we have built wonderful relationships with these inspiring teachers. It is impeccably run with a fantastic administration team. Daily app updates for parents are fantastic. The outside environment for children is truly beautiful - surrounded by woodland and nature. Both my children have excelled during their time at Little Cakes - we cannot recommend this nursery highly enough. Outstanding on every level.

Our daughter started Little Cakes at 2.5, it was a tricky transition for her as this was her first time away from me. However, the teachers are so welcoming and caring that she soon settled in. The staff are very attentive if any problems arise and happy to work with parents to resolve anything. We were first attracted to the Montessori method and the location of the school is idyllic. She is able to spend a lot of time outdoors, surrounded by nature.
We have been impressed at how many things our daughter has been able to try: tennis, Spanish, forest school, as well as the annual events at Christmas, Easter and summer. There is a good focus on preparing the children to make the transition into big school and communicating with us where we need to input.
Our daughter has made many good friends at this nursery, we'll always be very happy that she went and hope that her little sister will follow in her footsteps in the future. I recommend the school to everyone looking for nurseries!

Hi, I’m Alpa, Founder, Teacher (and Mother) of Little Cakes Montessori School, which was born from my genuine passion for working with children and my frustration of not being able to find a school for my daughter (Milly) that ticked all of my boxes.
Is she going to be safe? Will she ever stop crying and enjoy it? Will she get to enjoy the outdoors? Will she receive individual attention, and actually learn something?
With my 12 years of childcare experience and International Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy (on top of my Psychological Sciences degree), I managed to open Little Cakes Montessori. I had full confidence that the school would make Milly very happy... in fact, I can proudly say that each and every one of my children at Little Cakes Montessori is more than happy. Both of my own children, Milly and Mason attended Little Cakes!
My team and I work tirelessly to ensure that being at Little Cakes Montessori is more than just basic childcare, it’s a family, a home away from home! Where teaching, nurturing and preparing your children for their next stage in life is at the core of everything we do.
