Fees are structured around three levels of service on top of your child's funded entitlement: an all-inclusive rate covering meals, snacks and extracurricular activities; a reduced rate where meals and snacks are provided by parents; and funded-only places, where no additional daily charge applies but parents must provide meals, snacks, nappies, wipes and sun cream. An additional-hours rate applies beyond funded and session hours: £12 per hour at Combe Down Nursery.

About this price
How funding is applied, how the monthly figure is calculated.More info
- Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 51 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
- This nursery applies up to 10 funded hours per day, stretched across 51 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 22.4 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
- We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Others bill weekly, or charge for what happened that week or month, which can vary across the year. Confirm billing details with the nursery when you enquire.

Thank you so much for your lovely review and recommendation. We are delighted to hear how happy you have been with your son's time at Combe Down Nursery and that you have always found our team welcoming and kind. Thank you for being such a valued part of our Combe Down family.
Very professional and supportive staff for parents. Staff are great with children - understanding and meeting our boys needs. Lots of activities to keep him busy and always happy to go in. Great fresh food (our youngest eats better at nursery than home).

We have two children at Combe Down - one who is just about to start school and another who has been attending for just over a year. We could not be happier with how well our little ones are taken care of, and how much they have blossomed since attending. Our eldest has some Special Educational...
Overall this is a wonderful place, our children are so happy to be dropped off each morning and we know they are in good hands.

Our daughter has had a lovely time at Combe Down Nursery and has made good progress. We have found all the staff to be kind, caring, helpful and friendly. They encourage good behaviour from children and plan fun activities. We have only ever heard good reports from our daughter about the things that she has done and the interactions she's had with staff and children. We feel that our daughter has been safe and happy within this establishment and would recommend Combe Down to other parents.
I have two daughters at Combe Down Nursery, one in the baby room and one in pre-school. My youngest has always been really happy at drop off and is thriving; she even dropped her afternoon breast milk almost immediately. The staff genuinely seem to enjoy her and are invested in her development....
My eldest took longer to settle, as is her nature. The staff were patient with her and welcoming. Luckily she is a talker so I get to hear all about the strategies they have put in place to make her feel better, the friends she has made, the activities she does and the songs she learns. She regularly tells me about members of staff, how they help her, their hobbies and families etc. which is testament to the good relationships they have clearly built with her.
She loves going out to forest school and is so proud of the crafts she brings home (which is a lot!).
Food is cooked on site - my eldest has told me all about the chef.
Happy children = happy mummy!
My son started at Combe Down nursery in the baby room and is now in the preschool room and preparing for school.
The staff at the nursery are nothing short of outstanding; from the management and carer team to the in-house chef.

My son has needed a lot of extra help over the last year and not only have the team provided the support, they have gone the extra mile in creating their own resources, teaching Makaton and keeping us regularly updated with his progress.
My son loves the nursery and always looks forward to going and made some strong friendships bonds too. He will be so sad to leave.
I cannot speak highly enough of the team.

She really enjoys coming in and always comes out with a smile on her face, she has always done different activities such as painting cooking and messy play plus she really likes the food and eats it all. Would recommend this nursery to anybody who is looking for a setting for their child.

We really like the way they also have lots of extra events - they really go the extra mile.
The management has been and continues to be very considerate, helpful and supportive towards us as a family. My child enjoys his time at nursery and is a big fan of the food.

My daughter really enjoys attending the nursery. All the team are excellent and friendly and they all know her name. There's a good range of activities throughout the week.

We like the size of the nursery and hope it will stay relatively small. The holiday times are great as they get to venture further afield with smaller groups.
Excellent provision from a friendly and dedicated team. Management was previously poor and there were inconsistencies with staffing, however since new leadership has come in, the team appears much happier and united. My child loves going to nursery and I feel confident sending her there.

Overall, this is a lovely nursery, with friendly, helpful staff. Lots of interesting activities for the children and a lovely garden. Recent building work means the pre-school room is fab and am sure the continued works will improve the whole nursery. It could be made more clear what the children eat eg. changing the menus each term and sending menus in advance to parents. A better hand-over at end of day also useful, but minor points.
