Ghyll Royd Pre-School and Nursery

We are very happy with the care provided by Ghyll Royd Preschool and Nursery. Our son is making obvious progress in readiness for school in a few months' time. There is an impressive range of activities on offer. Staff are very caring and attentive.

The staff are friendly and approachable who have always made my son feel welcome and really care. The setting is always well presented and they encourage lots of variety in types of play and learning.

Both my kids love this nursery. The staff got to know them really well, understood their needs and helped across all areas of their development. They were (and one still is) very happy here, always comes out smiling and full of tales of his day. I love the outside space available as well as the wellie walks exploring nature. Would recommend to anyone considering.

My son settled extremely quickly into Ghyll Royd Pre-School and Nursery. Initially, he was upset about going, which is very normal but passed swiftly and he soon enjoyed going. He particularly likes the nursery staff and his new school friends. He is very happy at the nursery, therefore, I'm very happy. Additionally, I'm extremely pleased with the communication, activities and all the staff, my son is certainly thriving. Thank you Ghyll Royd.

Lovely, friendly, caring and knowledgeable staff. Absolutely made the best choice for my child in choosing Ghyll Royd. The outdoor space is wonderful for the great outdoors and child development and when I've visited the classroom I have found my child happily engaged in age-appropriate activities and enjoying time with peers. Reports are thorough and accurate. If we have another child we would plan to send them to Ghyll Royd for nursery and preschool too.

Excellent nursery with lovely staff and great facilities. We feel really happy with our son at this nursery and he has thrived there. He is encouraged to play and learn and talks very highly of his time at nursery. We could not be happier with this nursery.

I couldn’t have asked for a more inclusive and nurturing setting for my little boy. He truly loves attending and his happiness shows!

Overall I am extremely pleased with the nursery. The staff seem great at their job. They organise loads of various activities for the little ones. My child got used to the setting very quickly and now goes with great pleasure and excitement. It genuinely feels like an extension to the family! The building and surrounding areas are absolutely wonderful and give plenty of opportunity for loads of time spent in the open, which they do. The one (and perhaps only) thing I would recommend as an improvement is the menu. At the moment it seems very potato-pasta-pizza heavy, which has gotten our child somewhat used out of eating loads of veggies like before. In addition, there are often sugary sweets given to the children as an extra gift or treat, which is a very kind gesture, but personally, I’d prefer more focus on healthy eating habits.

Both my children have attended Ghyll Royd Pre-School and Nursery and have been extremely happy there. Wonderful staff and fabulous surroundings. The children experience a great variety of activities and staff make good use of all the resources available to them to ensure a fun learning journey is had by all.

My son settled in so well at Ghyll Royd Pre-School and Nursery. They have a variety of activities that are educational and fun for all the children this includes music class, sport and a vast amount of outdoor play. The teachers are all fantastic, give regular feedback on progress and they are so caring towards the children. Great Explorers has given an excellent foundation for my son starting primary school and this is due to the environment and dedication of the staff at Ghyll Royd Pre-School and Nursery. Ghyll Royd Pre-School and Nursery provides a stable basis, full of lots of creative play and fun activities. My son especially loves the outdoor space where there is an abundance of different spaces to play and entertain himself throughout the day.

Starting with the headteacher, a culture of focus on the individual student permeates through the entire staff. It is a school that is completely committed to each and every student within their care. We have two young kids at Ghyll Royd Pre-School and Nursery and they have both flourished which is due to the fact that their needs are tailored for. Most importantly, they love going to school here! The grounds are fantastic and even the chef receives rave reviews. It is a positive and encouraging environment and we are proud to be a part of this amazing community.

Easily the best nursery around. My daughter's confidence and learning have come on so much since she started! When she isn’t there, all she does is ask to be there. Loves every second, and she is always singing the songs that they learn at nursery.

Extremely impressed and pleased with Ghyll Royd Pre-School and Nursery. I have two children attending at the moment, both started soon after turning two and one of them will be starting school in September. They provide excellent care and with the nursery being attached to an independent primary school, they can take advantage of all their facilities such as the music room, sports hall and extensive grounds.

My son has loved attending this nursery since he turned two. His speech has come on so much and he looks forward to going to school. The teachers are kind, caring and are always finding new activities to do with the children. My son's favorite part of the school has to be the outdoor space. There is lots of room to run, play and explore in the outdoor classroom, which the kids go out in, rain or shine!

Our child has now attending Ghyll Royd Pre-School and Nursery since summer 2020 and absolutely loves it. We initially looked around thinking ahead for the school but we were really impressed by the nursery facilities, the staff and fantastic outdoor space. We made the decision to move nursery and we haven’t looked back.

The nursery is fantastic and all the people that work there are excellent. They are all very helpful, friendly and answer any questions you ask. I would say this is the best nursery, my son has settled really well and the curriculum is fantastic. My son has come on since starting at this nursery and I would give this nursery 100 percent for everything they do with the children.

Ghyll Royd is the most fantastic nursery. The staff are warm and friendly, and the nursery feels like home from home to my little girl. The outside space is enormous and the children are out whatever the weather. I can't think of a better place for her to spend her early years.
