Cherrytrees Children’s Nursery in Melrose has been a trusted part of the local community since 2002, providing high-quality care and early learning for children from birth to 12 years. Registered to accommodate up to 81 children, the Melrose nursery is one of four settings operated by Cherrytrees Children’s Nurseries Limited, each dedicated to offering nurturing and inspiring environments where children can thrive.

The nursery is located within a beautifully renovated property on Dingleton Road, carefully adapted to meet the needs of young learners. Provision is delivered across five bright, well-equipped playrooms, each designed to reflect children’s ages and stages, supporting development, curiosity, and confidence.

My child has been attending Cherrytrees Melrose for a few months and seems to love every day they spend there. We were recommended the nursery by other parents. Right from the start of the application process the staff have been beyond helpful. They showed us around and talked us through everything
our child would experience. They answer email queries promptly. There were some tears when my child first started to attend, but the staff are so warm and lovely it was soon all smiles and excitement at drop-off. Big smiles at pickup too, which I always take to be a good thing.
The regular app updates are wonderful for keeping up to speed with the sort of day your child has had.
The chef onsite does a great job at feeding them too, my child often comes home looking like they've eaten well.

Staff are excellent so friendly and good with my child. Manager is lovely and approachable: lots of outdoor space which is great. Good activities undertaken. However, I feel sometimes the food is not nutritious e.g. sausages, quorn etc. Also several times a month it is soup. Which I feel is not substantial
enough. Also ham is not healthy - (contains nitrites). very important to give children the best - starting out in life.

Our Menu's are prepared in consultation with the Scottish Government "Setting The Table document" and we also use some of the sample menu's from the document which includes both pork sausages and vegetarian sausages. Sausages are on our menu once every four weeks and are served with potatoes and vegetables. We offer home made soup once a week, prepared with a variety of nutritious vegetables and a roll/filled roll. We have used fresh diced chicken in the past but as we do not have a raw food licence and so the chicken comes pre packed ready to be emptied into a tray but this had to be checked for fatty bits/bone and so we chose to use quorn which has 14grams of protein and 5g of fibre per 100g with saturated fats only 0.3g. We appreciate your feedback and will use this when reviewing our Menu.

My son has been attending Cherrytrees Nursery (baby & beanie room) for the past 12 months and he absolutely loves it. The staff are friendly and approachable, and always keep me well informed. The setting itself is well laid out, with lots for children to do both indoors and outdoors. The menu choices
are healthy, and they cater well for allergies. I have no doubt that my son is well looked after and is in safe hands whilst he is at Cherrytrees Nursery.
