Overall Experience

Children's House at Wharfedale Montessori is an early years childcare setting that is unique to any other I have experienced. The setting is extremely beautiful and the early years children (age 2.5-6 years ) have a lovely cosy indoor area that is organised, clean and tidy. When observing the classroom the main thing that surprises me is how quiet and calm it is. The staff ratios are very good. They also spend loads of time outdoors, in all weather, and have a designated woodland for forrest school activities. The Montessori ethos builds confidence from a young age and even at 3 years old, I can see my youngest striving to be as capable as her older peers, she is independent and proactive in her learning. But most of all she LOVES going to school and all the work and activities they get to do there! It's never a fight to drop her off. My two older boys also went through Childrens House and I am so happy that they have all had such a wonderful early years experience.

Overall Experience

Our daughter loves attending school here, and frequently comes home with exciting news about the day's activities, showing us all the things she's made and telling us what she's been up to. Due to the smaller class sizes, it doesn't seem as chaotic as other schools, and I feel like my child is getting a lot more one-on-one time with the teachers. And because of the Montessori aspect, she has more opportunities to explore things she's actually interested in, and this is evident in the way she talks about things outside of school. Her confidence has increased since starting here too. It's such a lovely, calm environment, in a beautiful location, and the staff are wonderful and always smiling. We get regular photos and notes about what she's been up to, and the staff are always available for a quick chat at pick up or drop off.
