St Matthews Nursery and Pre-school

Fantastic educational setting for my daughter with some excellent extra curricular activities and parties for the kids. Lots of effort and care goes into creating an engaging, creative learning environment here where the kids thrive. My daughter loves it and after every day/activity she's involved in she tells me all about it in detail so I know how engaged she is with the day to day and it's great to be able to hear first hand how much she's gaining from being part of the preschool.

He enjoyed lots of activities and play inside and out and feedback to parents each day was always detailed, with regular parent consultations and chances to see what he'd been up to. Would recommend!

If you do raise any minor queries the staff are understanding and quick to resolve. It is a great nursery with staff who care. Would recommend as a small independent, homely feel nursery.

The team go above and beyond to ensure every child feels valued and supported. The activities are engaging, the communication is fantastic, and I've seen such a positive change in my child's development.

My child has been attending the nursery since September 2024 and his language and social skills have improved so much. All the staff I have interacted with are lovely and seem very genuine in their care and attention to each child. At first, drop off was difficult for my son but this has improved so much as he just strolls right in now as he is so comfortable and happy to be there. I love the updates we get at pick up knowing what he has been up to and how he's got on. The nursery provided me with the reassurance that he is developing well and I can see at home how his imagination and curiosity continue to grow. I think he is flourishing in this environment and it's all thanks to the caring and patient staff. I would recommend this nursery to all parents looking for a wonderful, safe and stimulating environment for their children.

All the staff are helpful, friendly and supportive. Both of my children have been to this nursery and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. The variety of activities has been really good and my daughter has developed really well, thank you.

My little boy has been going St Matthews since he was a year old, he's nearly 4. He has come on so well at St Matthew's Nursery, he has very good learning skills. Since mixing at nursery his confidence has grown and he has no difficulty in showing off his music and dancing talents in front of people. Staff have worked amazingly with him.

My daughter has been attending this nursery since September 2024 the staff have been amazing, always on hand when she was upset, always kept me up to date with what she was doing, how she was getting on and the activities she does then are fantastic! I have recently had a parents consultation and they were amazing told me how she was doing what she needed to work on and spoke to me with the respect they always go by what the parents want I.e potty training and stuff truly happy with the nursery and will 100% recommend.

My son has been attending since he was 18 months old, and it's been a truly wonderful experience. From the moment we first walked through the doors, we felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are incredibly caring, patient, and dedicated to providing a stimulating and nurturing environment for the children. They've played a significant role in his development and helped him to grow into a confident and curious little boy. The activities were well-planned and tailored to his age group. He always comes home excited to share stories about his day, from playing in the outdoor area to engaging in creative projects. As he prepares to start primary school, I'm both excited and a little sad. I know he's ready for this next chapter, but we will both miss the familiar faces and the loving care he's received. I can't thank the staff enough for everything they've done. I wholeheartedly recommend this nursery to any parent looking for a place where their child can thrive.

Hands down the best nursery my children have been to. All the staff are fantastic. One staff member from the baby room is so sweet, the admin lady is a star and not forgetting one teacher who is amazing, both my children have been lucky enough to have had her as their key worker and they adore her. Another staff member is great as well. They are all great actually! I love how traditional this nursery is and how it's not all about apps and social media. It's about the children and you can relax when they are there, knowing that they are safe. It's definitely a hidden treasure.

My little one was telling me that the nursery is not for him, but after a week, he was going with pleasure, and I was amazed how the staff achieved this. He is more confident and enjoys the time spent at the nursery. Thank you.

The kids love the nursery and are always happy when coming out to go home, and they love the nursery staff.

My son started at 11-months-old during Covid, and there was never a barrier. My son settled so well and the trust was instantly there. All staff are approachable, helpful and friendly. My son is now two and thriving. They are excellent at helping reach milestones, for example, saying bye to a dummy and potty training. Fabulous nursery.

My daughter started at St Matthews in August 2020 at 20mobths in the middle of the COVID pandemic. The staff at St Matthews made the settling in process so easy for both of us, everything was done at our pace until she was comfortable, nothing was too much trouble for them. My daughter is thriving, she loves going to “school” and always leaves with a big smile on her face telling me what she has been doing. She is allowed to be as independent as she wants, and all of the staff, regardless of which room they work in know her. This is something I really like as it’s like an extension of the family. Her confidence to do things is growing daily, and I would wholeheartedly recommend St Matthews to any parents looking for childcare

We have recently enrolled our twins that are 10 months old. As a new mother it can be difficult to leave your babies when the time comes to go back to work. The staff at St Matthews have been brilliant with my girls, and so helpful and friendly. I haven’t been worried at all as the staff made me feel very comfortable about leaving them in their care and the nursery is such a lovely environment. I like that at the end of each session they each have a book that is written in to tell me what they have been up to at nursery. The menu is very good and they have a huge variety of different meals, which is fantastic. I am looking forward to watching my girls learn and grow at this nursery. I would definitely highly recommend St Matthews Nursery and Pre-school to any other mums or dads.

This is the second child I am sending to this nursery and I could not be more satisfied with my experience. All members of staff have proven themselves to be caring, kind and create a pleasant environment for my children and their development. My children were provided with excellent care and I would definitely recommend this nursery to other parents.

All of the team at St Matthews have made our little one's journey into a nursery setting so easy. They are all so caring and she loves being with them. I would definitely recommend St Matthews to anyone in the area who is looking for a nursery space for their child.

My daughter is thriving at this nursery. She attended nursery part-time throughout the recent lockdown as we are key workers and we can't say enough about how well she was cared for. It is always safe, secure and friendly. We know that the staff understand her needs and are supporting her development and this professionalism continued even through the most challenging of circumstances. We are incredibly happy with the provision the nursery offers and would wholeheartedly recommend it to others.
