The nursery was privately owned and incredible. It was taken over by Kindred and has gone completely downhill.
There are some amazing team members who do an amazing job which make leaving a poor review hard but overall the nursery's performance is poor.
From people appearing to be in rooms to be "bodies" who sit not interested or interacting with the children, to my child coming home with bright yellow wee (on numerous occasions), to going to pick up from a room walking into the garden to not see anyone I recognise, calling my child to leave without any engagement, the bodies (who appear to be making up adult to child ratios) clearly uninterested. Someone did approach from the other room as I walked back through but it was the only face I knew.
I don't think my son would be ready for pre-school if it wasn't for the staff.

I felt this was wrong due to his symptoms and a additional investigation was carried out by another manager and he had been given at least 3 types of food containing milk. I took him out and have had to chase for my money back. Only getting it back after chasing several times. If my son was anaphylactic this could have been fatal. We take allergies extremely seriously and remain committed to the highest standards of care.We carried out a thorough review with external safeguarding partners (Local Authority Designated Officer, LADO), which has now been formally closed.Settling-in sessions normally confirm key information, including the 'All About Me' form, with the team. In this case, the sessions were not taken up, so this step was missed. This stage is vital to ensure we fully understand a child's needs before they start.Since this incident, we have strengthened processes:- Refresher training on allergy management & mealtime procedures.- Reissuing key policies.- Regular allergen audits & peer observations.- A stronger new starter logging system.- More visits from our Area Manager.We also followed our complaints procedure in line with safeguarding responsibilities. The food is amazing, the variety they get is fantastic and my son always eats it plus seconds, so he is never hungry. They get the opportunity to go outside as well as supporting getting them school ready. We have recently had a parents evening, which i wasn't expecting, with my sons key worker being very prepared, speaking about strengths and areas where we can support at home. An excellent nursery! My daughter 2 years old loves going and is so happy when I pick her up. I enjoy taking her and picking her up inside the room she stays in. It's lovely to hear what she has been up to in her session that day. They do so many activities with them, singing dancing and lots of free play too. The food they get is amazing and I believe it has taught her to experience new tastes and to eat well with the other children. The staff are lovely and the app is great to see photos of what they have been up to. It also tells you what they have eaten and how much! Overall Kindred Hykeham is a great place!

My daughter has been going since she was 6 months old, was really nervous with her being so young but the nursery have been absolutely fantastic. She loves it and always has a smile on her face when I pick her up. She loves the food and the lovely ladies who look after her like one of their own....

I moved my daughter to Kindred (previously St Nicholas) in October 2023 from another setting when she was 2 years 4 months as I was unhappy with the care she was receiving. It was the best thing I ever did! She absolutely loves Kindred and all of the staff we have met are fantastic. They always take the time at the end of the day to tell me what she has been up to no matter how busy they are, and there is also an app where photos are uploaded daily. After being anxious about using a nursery previously, I have full peace of mind that she is happy and being looked after to the highest standard. She is now in preschool and loves it even more, my son is due to start in the baby room at the end of October and settling-in sessions were booked promptly in advance. The nursery is extremely clean and the food they prepare is fantastic. Having used it as a parent and worked at several nurseries across Lincoln, this is the only one I would ever recommend to anybody.
