Our daughter started nursery in April, we have noticed how excited she gets when we arrive at nursery and how willing she is to leave us to go with the amazing staff at drop off. The communication is great, the smile on her face at the end of the day is even better. There are regular photo updates which we love to see. The staff genuinely care and are efficient in reporting any changes they notice. We couldn't have asked for a more caring and welcoming team to help us raise our little girl. The staff are angels and I hope they get the recognition they deserve.
My daughter has just moved into the toddlers room and she has transitioned so well and settled in perfectly. The staff are great and always smiley when they come to the door. My daughter feels comfortable going to all staff and doesn't even look back once she's through those doors which puts my mind at ease so much.
The ladies at the nursery are all absolutely incredible, and my daughter thoroughly enjoys going each day. They have dealt with the change over exceptionally well. Although the nursery isn't what it used to be since the change over to Kindred. Especially with the meals on offer. My child comes home from nursery every day hungry due to meals like tofu, salmon, cous cous, lentils these aren't child friendly foods, this for me is a huge area that needs work. I understand it has to be in line with government requirements but I'm sure there's better meals Kindred can offer. In terms of looking after my child I am beyond satisfied she is getting the best care, as each staff memeber is truly dedicated to their job.
My daughter started Nursery last year. I was really nervous about her going for long days but the staff are all very friendly. I have seen my daughter blossom being in the nursery setting. There were some very minor issues at the beginning but they were addressed efficiently and professionally. And the same issues never reoccurred. Food is hit and miss, she generally enjoys the food but some snack options I don't see her enjoying. All the staff interact well with my daughter and she goes in in the morning with open arms. It's very reassuring for me. Recently they have been enjoying time out in the secure garden which I'm really pleased about. Overall happy. I would like to see more photos being uploaded to her profile and some observations of her progress with learning. My daughter is happy and that's the main thing.
On the whole I have no major concerns with the nursery and my children appear to enjoy being in the setting. However the meal choices are poor and to expect a 10 month old to eat a tuna sandwich is not acceptable or an appropriate choice. I accept that the staff cannot warm up several children's meals but more child friendly meals should be made available which are equally as healthy as ones currently on offer. I also feel in comparison to other settings I have been to, the updates on child development is not great and also updates on their activities including pictures is not reported to parents and is done very sparingly. The setting in my opinion has gone very much down hill since the change of ownership and it is a shame as I feel it was not for the better.
In terms of improvements which would make it a lot more appealing are:- better meal choices
- better updates on child activities
- better developmental updates
- more photos available on child activities
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we really do appreciate hearing honest feedback from our parents and carers. We've looked into your comments in more detail and have identified where we can improve, particularly around how we record children's development and how we communicate this...
My little boy does an afternoon a week, I have seen the difference since he has started. Very thankful to all the ladies here at Building Blocks Kindergarten. My friend recommended this setting to me and a few others have mentioned how good they are. We are happy with our choice.
