If you wish to opt out of our meal provisions you must provide one months’ notice. It is not possible to opt in for selective meals; you must either opt in for all meals or no meals.

Additional Funding Information
To remain eligible for the government funded scheme, parents must reconfirm their eligibility with HMRC every 3 months, or when prompted (except the 15 hours entitlement for all 3-year-olds). Children can access funding the term after their 3rd birthday or the term after their 9-month birthday if accessing the extended funding entitlement. The cut off dates are mandatory and do not change 31st March, August and September. Parents who fail to renew their eligibility code will be liable for any hours already used and may need to alter their plan until the next eligibility period.
Funding Policy
Children can access government funding in blocks of up to 10 hours. We allow parents the option to stretch their funding over 51 weeks per year, meaning you will benefit from a maximum of either 11.18 hours funding per week for the 15-hour entitlement or 22.35 hours per week for the 30-hour entitlement. Any additional hours are charged based on a fee structure set out on Page 1.
For funded hours which are allocated in the priority order of Tues, Weds, Thurs, Fri, Mon regardless of the session attended (save for the Early Bird session which is not available as a funded session) we ask parents to make a contribution towards Meals & Extra-Curricular Activities/Other Consumables which are not covered by the Government Funding we receive. The costs of these are applied according to the session booked. These charges optional and you can elect to opt out. However, if you intend on doing so please speak to Nursery Manager so they can provide you with the relevant policy in respect of providing your own food.
We do also offer a limited number of places on a Term-Time Only basis where you can elect to receive you full 15 or 30 hours per week for childcare for 38 weeks a year.

I had some concerns regarding my child's behaviour at home. Possible ADHD, Autism. I spoke to the manager, asking for advice, and what next steps to take. I can honestly say, she is so helpful. She spoke to me about him, listened, and is going to help with more info, and contact numbers.

My son joined the nursery in 2024. Both my son and I have felt very welcome from day 1. All staff are friendly, polite and on board with everything. My son has a great time every day he is there. He loves all the members of staff. I like that we are updated on his progress and what he has been learning.

I cannot recommend Little Rainbows highly enough. Sending my son here was the best decision we've made. From day one, the staff have treated him like family, creating a 'home away from home' environment that made his transition so smooth. It's a huge relief as a parent to drop him off knowing he's not
just safe, but genuinely loved and nurtured. He comes home every day with a massive smile, full of stories about his friends and the amazing staff. Highly recommend.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.990)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.990) out of 10 for Little Rainbows Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Little Rainbows Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (60 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.99 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Rainbows Day Nursery is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 51 number of registered child places is 10.2. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.2 = 0.49
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
