YMCA Shirley Day Nursery

The facilities are always being upgraded and improved, and my daughter always comes home with a huge smile on her face. I have built really good relationships with all of the staff and couldn't have picked a better nursery for her. I am so grateful for the care, support and kindness they have given her over the years. I would highly recommend this nursery to any parent!

My daughter has been at the YMCA Day Nursery (Billy Bears) for over 6 months and we are extremely pleased with the nursery. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. You see the same faces everyday and there is consistency with staff which is very important for us. Our daughter is always very happy to go into nursery and happy when she comes out. I would highly recommend the YMCA Day Nursery as a small local friendly nursery, not a large corporate business like some of the other nurseries in the area.

One of our absolute favorite details is that they keep chickens in the garden! Having that touch of nature and hands-on learning in a suburban nursery is such an amazing, unique feature. The children love learning how to look after them, and it makes their days even more special. We couldn't ask for a better environment for our kids to grow, learn, and thrive. Highly recommended to any parent!

My child attended the nursery from when she was 1 until 4 and half, leaving this summer to start school. I have always felt happy leaving her at nursery as the staff communicate well and my child was happy. She would tell me about her friends, the activities they had done, what she had enjoyed that day. My son started at 9 months old and immediately settled which gave me peace of mind starting back at work.

The nursery is a lovely space - big, light and airy. Lots of toys and bright displays. The outdoor space is excellent too. Much bigger than others we had looked at.

The staff at Shirley Day Nursery are excellent and couldn't do more for the kids (and parents!). Very supportive with big life changes (a new sibling!) and any challenging behaviour. The nursery manager, Nat, is a credit to the YMCA. I have total trust in her and the team looking after my children. Leah has also been fantastic. My daughter also speaks fondly of the chef and loves the food!

Her key worker has been brilliant with her and they have developed a great bond over the past year.

I am mom of almost a three year old boy who has been attending Billy Bear's Nursery since he was ten months old. Despite the fact that we have watched a lot changes in staff, my son has always loved going there. I was very worried at first but he has settled in very quickly and had the best times since. I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work and making us parents confident that our son was always safe and cared for.

My son is 4 and has been in this nursery since he was 9 months old. The staff are wonderful, caring, friendly and my son adores them. He is challenged and well cared for here and the staff continue to be creative and nurture his development. When your 4 year old is excited to go to nursery every day, you know it's a great place.

The nursery have continually upgraded their facilities over the past few years. This is great to see their vision to always improve. They use a great app to record daily food/nappy updates as well as observations. It's lovely to see pictures some days of how your child is getting on. In the last year there have been no Covid closures; this is an excellent achievement. The staff are friendly and approachable - would highly recommend.

Also, the way they have reacted through the pandemic has put us as a family at ease knowing our boys are safe, healthy and monitored on a daily basis.

I would recommend Billy Bears nursery to other parents. Staff are caring and professional. It feels like a family, kids really enjoy it there. I feel safe leaving my children at the nursery. My daughter loves the staff. The manager is very good at her job she cares about all kids and is close to them.

I couldn't recommend Billy Bear's enough! The staff here are absolutely amazing. They genuinely care about the children and their wellbeing. Both my daughters love coming here.

The staff at Billy Bears are wonderful. They are so caring towards the children and have supported us, as a family, as our children have grown. The communication between home and nursery is great and the children take part in lots of fun activities. My children are so happy there and we are delighted with the nursery provision.

I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough.

This is a lovely little nursery with a real "family" feel to it. The staff are lovely and very engaging with all the children. The children are always so happy and keen to talk when I go and pick my son up. You can see how at ease they are there, which is extremely important in my eyes for development. I would definitely recommend this nursery.

The nursery itself is bright and very welcoming with a great outdoor space. And the children always look very happy.

My son has been attending Billy Bear's for over a year now and he thoroughly enjoys his time there. The staff are very friendly and provide informative feedback on his day. He has clearly made some very lovely bonds with both staff and children in this setting. We couldn't be happier with our choice.

My husband and I were so pleased we found Billy Bear's. After looking around loads of nurseries in Solihull we felt immediately comfortable as soon as we visited the nursery and chatted with the staff and the manager. We could tell they would be the best place for our daughter as they seemed to genuinely care for her and us as a family. The nursery has large, bright open spaces and a big garden area and are passionate about helping the children develop their personal and educational skills. We felt happy to entrust the care of our daughter to the nursery and our daughter loves it here.
