The Review Score of 3.3 (maximum of 10) for Mr Bee's North Lynn Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 0 out of 5 from 0 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Day Nursery / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Day Nursery receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.
The Average Rating of 3.25 for Mr Bee's North Lynn Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (2 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) + (4 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 3.25
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Day Nursery to friends and family?'
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.
1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.
If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.
The 0 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mr Bee's North Lynn Nursery is based on 0 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows:
0 = 0
Target of 17.6 positive Reviews (88 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 0 Reviews ÷ 17.6 Target = 0

The staff seem a great bunch but my primary concern surrounds how the nursery deals with ill children and the seemingly absent measures in place to protect well children from the regular attendance of children who are unwell.
It is now apparent that our child is constantly becoming ill following attendance at the nursery and this then leads us to not being able to work yet still paying for a placement at the nursery despite the illnesses constantly originating from the nursery. The illnesses are then being passed around the family leading to more educational absences and sadly all this started when our child started at Mr Bees.
I'm sure they have difficulties but my opinion is that you can see if a child is ill and if they are then the nursery has 2 choices, send them home or segregation to stop the spread.

Karen Gibbons, Senior Early Years Professional at Mr Bee's North Lynn Nursery responded to this review on 28 Feb 2017:
Thank you for your review - parent feedback is always valued. It will support us with reflecting and developing a practice as our children's safety and well-being is very important to us. We are sorry to hear your little girl has been poorly and hope she returns to full health soon. We understand that the Centre Lead at North Lynn has responded to your email and we hope the information provided clarifies our procedure with regards to illness.
Childhood illness can be difficult to recognise as many illnesses are contagious pre-symptoms appearing and or come on very quickly which can make it difficult to completely stop some illnesses.
