About this price
How funding is applied, how the monthly figure is calculated.More info
- Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 48 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
- This nursery applies up to 10 funded hours per day, stretched across 48 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 23.8 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
- We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Others bill weekly, or charge for what happened that week or month, which can vary across the year. Confirm billing details with the nursery when you enquire.

My son (and also my daughter previously) has flourished at this nursery. He is so happy and content there, staff are incredibly kind, attentive and knowledgable, and he always looks forward to his days spent there.

The staff at Acorn are lovely, they are friendly, skilled and genuine. This includes the office staff too. There is low staff turnover, it's been reassuring to see the same familiar faces.
The management of Acorn is great, when I was looking at nurseries the manager here was the only one who spoke about safeguarding and explained in detail how they do it in order to keep our children safe.
Lastly, this nursery is run by BHCC, it's not for profit, all the money goes back into the service, the staff and therefore the children.
My two children have loved Acorn. They come back tired, happy and with new interests learnt at Acorn.
Since my daughter joined Acorn back in April we have been very happy. The staff are all really lovely and helpful, my daughter settled in the nursery really well It's reassuring picking her up at the end of every day and she's happy playing.

My son has been attending Acorn since January 2025 and I'm so grateful that we chose this nursery. The staff have all been amazing - kind, caring, and friendly. I would recommend Acorn nursery to anyone looking for a safe, welcoming, and caring place for their little ones.

Since starting nursery at 11 months old my child has thrived at Acorn. He is so happy on drop off and pick up and gets excited when we arrive at the gates, this is mainly down to the amazing care he receives at the nursery. Its not just his key worker but every single member of staff in the sunshine room is amazing, they take the time to know your child and you as a parent and you are able to build trust and a relationship quickly due to this. Office staff are quick to get back with any questions. Food wise he loves the home cooked meals supplied by little tums. The activities they do all day are fabulous and really encourage learning through play. I have received full support with changing patterns such as naps etc. I honestly could not fault this nursery. Only reason I marked facilities down was due to lack of air con in summer months but that is no fault of the nursery more so council funding to them.
Thank you for your feedback we are glad to hear your thoughts and we are working with the council on getting air conditioning installing into the building.
