Culham Nursery & Preschool

The staff have been extremely supportive to us with our son starting nursery for the first time at 11 months old. They have been adaptable to his schedule and needs. Everyday they have a fantastic knowledge of what my son has done and he always comes home happy but exhausted.

My child has thoroughly enjoyed their time at the nursery and cannot wait to go there in the morning. The staff are genuinely pleased to see her when we get there, and seem to put real thought and care into her learning every day.

My child has a wonderful time at Culham. Her key worker and other teachers have built lovely relationships. She has so much fun, can't wait to get to nursery in the morning, and has learned really good habits from nursery. The food seems excellent and she has a large range of activities.

The admin could be better (sorting out settling in days, invoicing, getting back on dietary queries) but it seems to be improving.

Our son has been so happy at Culham Science Centre Nursery and preschool and we have seen so much growth in him. They accommodated him quite last minute after we were let down by another setting and have been great from day one. They feed him a nutritious home cooked meal for lunch every day, and he has become very attached to the caring staff. The only thing I wonder if could have been done better is the settling in process. We didn't get to spend any time in the setting getting him acquainted with it before we left him and he was quite upset for the first few weeks.

Culham is a brilliant place for my children. The staff are engaging and know all the children, and they put lots of effort in creating great activities for the kids. Being outside is part of the daily life of the nursery, whatever the weather, and is one of my favourite things about it.

While in the baby room my son made strong connections with the staff and developed really well and quickly.

The nursery is lovely and all the staff are great. We are so happy with the quality of the food and learning provided. We only wish the outside space was as good as it used to be when the old nursery was there. We miss the greenery and shade from the trees. Cost of the nursery is also very expensive compared to most others in the area. The nursery is great overall.

We have found Culham Nursery and Pre-School to be fantastic for both our children. They helped our eldest develop and prepare for school and support our youngest who currently attends and needs some extra support. The staff are kind and friendly and find creative ways to engage with the children and teach them.

The changes from the new management have been innovative and positive and have made a clear impact on the children and parents.

Neither of my children ever made a complaint!! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

My son was at Culham Science Centre Nursery for a total of six months before a (pre-planned) move (due to location). I could not fault them at all. My son was only six months old when he started so naturally I was nervous - but I needn't have been. He settled so well in the baby room and I was put at ease so quickly. Everyone was so friendly and I was confident that he was in great care and having so much fun. Photos were uploaded to an app, and I received feedback daily when I picked him up as to sleep, food, play and other skills/development. I would highly recommend. We have been using the nursery since 2024 and have nothing but positive things to say. My child is currently in lower preschool 2 and she is thriving. The staff are wonderful, my child loves every single one of them and it's hard to get her to leave at the end of the day! She does so many activities and her development has come on leaps and bounds. Every single staff member we deal with are professional and all clearly passionate about their jobs. We feel very lucky to have a place here.

We are very pleased with the nursery. Our son is thriving there, and he loves coming in the mornings. The staff is lovely and caring. We have no worries dropping him off.

A fantastic nursery! Our son has been here since he was 10 months and is now 2.5 years old. He has been through the baby, toddler and lower preschool rooms so far. The staff have all been amazing throughout, they really take time to get to know the whole family and support the child in their learning and development. The outdoor facilities are brilliant; we like that there is some shared space with other classes - but it's also great that the smaller children have a different space to the older ones. We feel that our son is developing really well under the care and leadership at Culham. We like the verbal updates and regular parents' updates (instead of an app!). The food always sounds healthy and varied. Overall, we are so happy and - most importantly - our son is too.

They give us detailed updates of our child, such as always what she can do or not, what she eats or not, how many hours she sleeps, etc. These updates are really appreciated and help us to understand her progress and development.

My child has been at the nursery since 2023, and in that time, he has thrived there. The support from the staff through his interests, which have been nurtured, and through big life events (moving house, sibling) has been outstanding. Now we are looking at primary schools for our child, it has become even more clear how well 'set up' our child is for school, with not only more 'academic' type tasks - but also socially, and importantly - emotionally. Our children's language skills are tremendously nurtured at nursery, and the ability to articulate feelings because of a wonderful focus on wellbeing of the children is something that has really stuck out to us as parents. Thank you for such a wonderful environment for our child! All of the staff, in all roles, have been fantastic!

My wife & I love that we sent our son to this nursery. The staff are amazing and pay special attention to little details like learning our son's teddy's name. The meals they provide are exceptional, and they're attentive to gluten allergies like our son has. The teachers and management help provide advice when asked for. As first time parents, we were concerned about various milestones for our child; the teachers put our minds at ease. The play area is great and has endless things in it to entertain our son. We feel our son is very safe and happy at this nursery - and this is confirmed every morning when he runs into class for breakfast,

Elise and the team made our daughter's transition to their first preschool room minimally disruptive and a joy for our daughter. She has thrived at the opportunity to join in with the 'bigger kids' and gain more independence. The team are so receptive to knowing when she's ready and how to engage her with this. The whole room has supported our daughter (and W!) with vital potty training, allowing us to create a seamless transition between home and nursery. We continue to be impressed but their knowledge of our daughter and her likes, comfort and smiggles. Our daughter loves Ellie's magical way with her hair! It brings us joy when she proudly shows us her latest style. Thea had a huge role in helping our daughter transition to a new room. Her empathy meant a lot.
