Deerlands Day Nursery

We came across Deerlands back in 2019 when looking for a nursery for our daughter (now 5 and half years old). We viewed several nurseries and instantly felt at home at Deerlands. The outside space is superb, different equipment and garden space for the different rooms. We are a very outdoorsy family and love the fact that the children go outside in all weathers. Our daughter stayed with Deerlands right up until she started school in 2022 and was more than prepared for her school journey, our son started at Deerlands in 2021 and is absolutely thriving just as our daughter did. The home-cooked meals smell delicious with a varied menu and they are always happy to support with any allergy needs. The staff are friendly, kind, caring and above all lots of fun! We would always highly recommend Deerlands.

Highly recommend. Both of my boys (past and present) have attended Deerlands and I couldn’t fault them. The staff are very friendly and I’ve always felt my children have been well looked after. They have also done a great job in preparing my eldest for school. Very happy.

Deerlands Day Nursery has been amazing for both my girls! My eldest has been attending for over 18 months and has come on leaps and bounds. She has built such lovely relationships with not just her caregivers but all staff members. She is always so excited to go in and comes out with the biggest smile. My youngest has been attending for two months, and she has settled in so well and has already developed amazing bonds with the girls in her room, which is lovely as she never makes a fuss going in and is always so happy after spending the day there. They have such a brilliant outdoor space! I get regular updates, which is so nice, being able to see what they have been getting up to throughout the day. It makes my days at work so much nicer and easier, knowing that they are not only safe but somewhere they are happy to be. I have had such a lovely experience with Deerlands, and it will be a sad day when my girls have to leave to start school.

Excellent members of staff, who do everything to make our daughter's stay there fun and educational. The staff members take into consideration her interests and give her great care and attention. She brings home great vocabulary and skills.

Brilliant nursery with wonderful staff. Our son has really enjoyed his time there, from the fun had with his key workers, to the food he asks for seconds of each day. We were drawn to Deerlands mainly because of the outside space, but the whole set up of the nursery seems to work really well. We will be sad to leave, but appreciate all of the care provided.

The staff all take a genuine interest in the children they care for and the nursery is well run. There’s always something going on, charities being supported and things for families to attend. I love the fact that the area is rural and older children get to go on nature walks in the surrounding grounds.

I honestly couldn’t fault this nursery. They are tremendous and so attentive to the family life and the children they tend to. They understand them and involve themselves into the development of the children. My little boy has developed so much over the 7 months he has been there and I have not had to worry once. Thank you again Deerlands.

The food was always excellent too and we were sad when our youngest left to go to pre-school for her next milestone. I would definitely recommend Deerlands to prospective parents - both our children and us felt it was the best nursery in the area.

A well set up and equipped nursery where staff go above and beyond in the care for the children. Always friendly and happy to help. Provide a range of engaging activities in terms of craft and learning. Excellent outdoor space.

My experience at Deerlands Day Nursery is all positive. My first son started and was very anxious about leaving me but the staff were all so patient and caring to his needs - he soon settled in and loved going there. My second son has just started and smiles going in. I never worry about him whilst at nursery as I know he will be safe and cared for. The facilities are great and my boys especially love the outside area. Would recommend without a doubt. Great job Deerlands.

A wonderful nursery, very good at helping my son settle in, open to try different things to help him feel comfortable and within 2 weeks he happily walks in on his own, no tears. He always comes out with a smile on his face. The food is excellent he eats so well. I have been impressed with the variety of home-cooked meals provided. The staff are lovely, caring and fun. They make you feel like part of the family. Great work.

Excellent nursery with quality facilities inside and out. Our daughter wasn’t the most confident when first joining nursery but the staff were excellent in helping build confidence. She now very much looks forward to nursery days and always talks happily about her days. They also have some nice time at the local park which was excellent - so I am told! Variety in food and always homemade on-site. Highly recommend

The food is nutritious and varied and the children enjoy the meals cooked on site. The children make the most of the substantial outdoor areas and the staff ensure the children play outside even when the weather isn't perfect. I have always recommended Deerlands to other people, a real home from home environment.

My overall experience of Deerlands Day Nursery is extremely positive. I am very happy with the level of care and learning skills provided and the number of different activities for our little boy to do. He always talks about his friends he has made there and the two key workers who look after him.

There are many extras too such as sports day, parents evening, a photographer who comes in, the hard copy learning journal you get to keep, birthday parties and much much more. We would definitely recommend this nursery.

Like most nurseries, it is expensive and it's not getting any easier for parents affordability wise, it would be nice to receive some funding or subsidised rates for young children in addition to the standard 15 hours at age 3.
