A wonderful nursery with caring staff and a lovely atmosphere. My child feels safe, happy and well looked after every day. We're so grateful for everything they do.
My youngest currently attends Burstead Bears after my eldest attended from 8 months old-4 years they both love(d) the nursery here and all the ladies. I feel so comfortable leaving my children here and wouldn't send my kids anywhere else!
We couldn't be happier with Burstead Bears. It's been over 2 years now since our daughter has attend nursery and we are so thrilled we made this choice. She goes in so happy every morning and has bonded so well with the ladies, who are all amazing :) everyone is so kind, patient and caring and I feel so comfortable that our daughter is receiving such great cared!

All of the staff at Burstead Bears have played such an important and special role in the begining of both my childrens learning journey. Myself and my partner are so grateful for all of the love and support that they receive and can see all of their amazing work in everything that they do - from learning to walk, talk and helping to teach our son to be the best big brother! We especially appreciate that they make specific fun days filled with things our children love and turning them into games they can learn from. We couldn't be happier with their progress and are so happy knowing they are having the best first experience of what learning can be! They both settled so quickly and are so happy at Burstead Bears, we couldn't ask for anything more.
Since my daughter started at Burstead Bears in Sept 2025 she has excelled in confidence, she has so much fun with all the activites they do during the day with the children. The staff are all so kind, caring and friendly. I alway get notified if something has happened during the day. I'm so pleased my daughter is at this nursery its such a beautiful, safe place for her to grow in these early years.
We have been incredibly impressed with the care and attention our baby receives at Burstead Bears. From the first day the staff made us feel welcome and reassured taking the time to understand our little ones personality and needs. Burstead Bears Day Nursery have been amazing overall and my son has come on in leaps and bounds and his confidence has grown! All the staff are so hard working and friendly and go above and beyond. This is the best nursery in Billericay and I will recommend it to anyone in Basildon and Billericay area.
We have been part of this nursery for over four years, with both of our children attending, and we couldn't recommend it highly enough. Our eldest child was born prematurely and was expected to be behind in her development, but she went on to meet and excel in all her targets, something we truly believe the nursery played a huge role in. Even now at five years old, she still talks about nursery and the people who cared for her.
Our 20-month-old is absolutely thriving. He is so happy, confident, and settled, and has hardly ever been upset when going to nursery. The relationships the staff build with both children and parents are incredibly special and make you feel truly supported.
A special mention to Keli, who cared for both of our children and who they both adore. She is exceptional at what she does, and we are so grateful for the care and love she shows. We will always be thankful for the amazing start this nursery has given our children and couldn't recommend them enough.

Burstead Bears Day Nursery Billericay is the most caring and welcoming place we've ever been to. On our first day of visiting, our son felt so comfortable he go straight down and all of the girls were so lovely to him. We were so worried about our son's care due to his epilepsy but I have not ever had to worry since he's been here! Best nursery, by far, they are so thorough with everything and so accommodating! We are very lucky to have found Burstead Bears.

Meet the Team (5)
Rachael, who has over 20 years of experience in childcare, joined Burstead Bears in September 2006 and helped establish the Nursery to the enviable reputation it enjoys today. Rachael has qualifications in both childcare and management and is responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery.
Bethany is a bright, cheerful and outgoing character, who joined our nursery team because after completing a 2-week work experience at a nursery, she realised that it was a long-term career in childcare that she wanted to pursue. Bethany enjoys creative art and, in particular, painting, which is put to good use with the children. Since becoming a member of Burstead Bears, Bethany has demonstrated excellent interaction skills, as well as a willingness to help others and a desire to progress in her role within the nursery to make a rounded member of the team.
Nicola is a bright, enthusiastic and caring individual who has a wealth of experience working with early years’ children of all ages, from newborn babies to our pre-school children. Nicola started life at Burstead Bears in 2010 as one of our nursery practitioners with a true passion for working with young children. As time progressed, she was promoted to a senior nursery practitioner, a role for which she is highly respected. Additionally, Nicola assists with various duties in the management of the nursery. Since joining the nursery, Nicola has started her own family and now has a lovely son.
Keli has been working in the childcare sector since 1998, during which she has worked as a nanny for 10 years with children aged up to 16, and as a nursery practitioner with children from birth to age 5. Within Keli's role, she has cared for many children of varying abilities, including a 5-year period where she had great pleasure in caring for a child with autism, who, thanks to Keli's input, is today learning, socialising, communicating, and developing really well. This makes Keli one of the nursery's most experienced and respected members of staff. After all the years Keli has worked in this sector, she still maintains the same passion in her role caring for children and helping them progress as she did when she first started. Keli's main pursuit outside of work is caring for her 3 horses as well as competing in various equestrian events, in which she has been most successful, winning trophies for show jumping, cross country and dressage.
Jodie was initially inspired to work in childcare by her mother, who had worked in the childcare sector for many years. Since joining Burstead Bears, Jodie has displayed her passion for working with children by showing a great deal of empathy, warmth, understanding and enthusiasm whilst interacting in both play and education. This is evident as the children immediately warm to Jodie’s friendly and gentle persona. Jodie’s interests include: canoeing, sailing, reading and painting.
