Chestnut House Kindergarten is a Good Ofsted-rated setting (February 2020), providing high-quality care and early education for children aged six months to five years in a safe, secure and welcoming environment.

The nursery places a strong emphasis on each child’s personal, social and emotional development, recognising that every child is unique. A wide range of resources and activities are carefully planned to reflect children’s individual needs, interests and stages of development, helping them to grow in confidence and independence.

Children at Chestnut House enjoy a balanced day that includes both free play and adult-led activities. These experiences are thoughtfully designed to support learning through play while ensuring children feel safe, supported and encouraged to explore at their own pace. The safety and wellbeing of every child is of paramount importance, and all activities are planned with care to maintain a secure environment at all times.

The nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, ensuring children develop key skills across all areas of learning. Pre-school children are also supported with their communication development through the Letters and Sounds framework.

Chestnut House Kindergarten strongly believes that children thrive when there is a positive partnership between parents and the nursery team. Open communication, trust and mutual support are encouraged, with parents welcomed to discuss their child’s progress and development regularly.

We are very happy with this nursery and we find the staff members very welcoming, kind, professional and helpful. Our child is extremely happy to attend this nursery and we have had nothing but an extremely positive experience so far. Thank you to all of the staff for creating such a lovely environment

Our daughter has been going here for almost 4 months now and I can only sing their praises. The staff are so polite and attentive, they're quick to resolve any concerns or care changes you may have for your child; they adhere to safeguarding and health and safety protocol so strictly - which makes me
feel safe sending my daughter here. They update the EY app with pictures and daily logs which I love as I can see what she's up to while I'm at work. She loves the staff and her little friends here, we're so glad we found them!

Our daughter has been at Chestnut House for 11 months. The staff are amazing. They really know our daughter and have an amazing relationship with her. It is a joy taking her to nursery; she is so happy and is supported and encouraged in all areas of her development. As parents, we couldn't ask for anything

Our experience from the first contact we had with the nursery, the settling in days, to his day to day care currently has been great. Staff have been very friendly, helpful and understanding of how difficult it could be to start sending your one year old to nursery. I have seen staff with my son and
they have been exceptional. He has now developed a good relationship with his key worker and even lets her carry him (rare for him!). We would highly recommend it.
