View Full Details of Riverside Nursery Schools, Grosvenor HouseOur son Luca joined Riverside Grosvenor House this month and we couldn't be happier. The team are incredibly attentive, keeping us updated during the day and sharing lovely photos afterwards. We've already noticed a big change in Luca - he's more talkative, outgoing, and clearly benefiting from the fun, engaging activities. We were initially concerned about the longer hours (8-6), but the team have been so supportive, letting us collect him earlier while he settles in. The variety each week is fantastic - outdoor play, dancing, music, yoga and more - making every day exciting. We're so impressed with the care, thought, and energy that goes into everything. Highly recommend Riverside Grosvenor House to any parent. Thank you to the wonderful team!
I would highly recommend this nursery ! We moved to the Riverside nursery last year (pre-school room) and initially, I was worried that the settling in period would be difficult for my son, to get used with everything that was new for him. But actually it was such a smooth transition thanks to the whole team, as they were so patient with him and made him feeling safe all the time! Literally, he loves so much being at the nursery, he is asking even during weekends to go there which is a obvious sign that he feels really good & enjoys being there :) Not to say that the staff are always organizing such nice events that help children to further develop and learn new things, exploring the nature and surroundings. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. :) Thank you Riverside team for your commitment and good work!
Our son joined Grosvenor House in September following a family relocation, and we were initially quite anxious about the transition-especially as he was leaving a long-term childminder he loved. However, our worries quickly disappeared. He settled into the Toddler Room with ease and, within a week, was happily running in to see his new friends. His key worker, has been fantastic. She's not only built a warm, trusting relationship with him but is also supporting us in helping him with his stammer. We've been amazed at how quickly his speech has developed since joining. Every day is filled with enriching activities, from Yoga and Forest School to Spanish lessons. They also make a point of getting the children outside daily on walks. Another area that really impressed us is the food-he eats so well at nursery, often better than at home! We're so grateful to have found such a nurturing and stimulating environment for our son. We'd recommend Grosvenor House in a heartbeat.
We have been delighted by the caring, thoughtful and development focused experience that our daughter has had over the last year from a caring and experienced team who have made a real bond with her. With a commuter friendly location and opening hours, good facilities - including an on site garden (and regular trips out around the area), lots of thoughtful initiatives and events - including with a cultural focus, we remain very happy with our choice of the nursery and expect that our daughter will stay at the nursery until she outgrows it.
Our daughter has been attending Riverside's Grosvenor House nursery since she was 5 months old and I would wholeheartedly recommend it. The nursery staff provide a warm and caring enivironment for the children, with a focus on achieving a well rounded education whilst taking into account individual developmental goals and needs. Not only does the nursery provide for the 'basics': reading, lots of (outdoor) playtime, educational toys, etc. but it also organizes a broad range of 'extras' to expose the children to as many experiences as possible. Whether it is visiting the local library, having a guitarist come to the nursery to play for the children, providing weekly dance classes, exploring local parks and green spaces, yoga, maintaining the nursery's herb and flower garden, etc. The nursery staff always go the extra mile to ensure the children are engaged and happy, with the smile on our daughter's face when we drop her off in the morning confirming that they have achieved their goal!
Be aware that the photos shown here are not for this nursery, they are for the affiliated pre-school opposite for older children. The rooms at Grosvenor House unfortunately do not look like this at all. Our son attended this nursery for 2.5 months and we did not have a great experience. He came home most days dirty with food smeared all down his front (easily avoided with a bib?!). You can't pick up or drop off to the room itself which I assume is due to the layout but means that you can never see your child and the carers in situ. We always had to ask lots of questions on pick-up to get any information about how our son got on or what they did that day. The room which we saw during the settles is OK, but doesn't have many colours or lots of toys and activities like other nurseries we've seen. Our son (who is normally very easy-going and adaptable) cried at every drop-off and pick-up here - at his new nursery this never happens anymore. Every child's different of course but this was our experience.
My daughters have been attending Riverside since they were 1 year old and now in pre-school. They have grown up so much in the space of 2.5 years. We’ve been very happy with how well our daughters are taken care of by all staff, who create a nurturing and safe environment. They have developed independence and a deep interest in learning across all levels. They also have fun and enjoy playing, singing dancing and mealtimes with their friends. Although there is a shortage of outdoor space, this hasn’t been an issue for us due to the quality of the indoor space, trips to forest school and regular walks/ garden time. They are always happy to go to preschool and this has always been the best sign for us. I would have no hesitation in recommending Riverside to any potential new parents.
My son’s preschool experience has provided a solid foundation for future learning and I have no doubt it will make the transition to school that much easier for him and us in September. The caring teachers foster a warm, inclusive environment, nurturing both academic and social skills. The classrooms and creative activities make learning fun, whilst still being anchored by EYFS. The staff and environment encourage creativity and self-directed activities in the spirit of Montessori. The nursery makes up for the limited outdoor space with the wonderful indoor climbing structures, my son enjoys exploring the local neighbourhood on guided walks and the nursery makes use of the great local green spaces and compensates through the use of forest school and yoga classes, all of which capture my son's imagination and expose him to new ways of learning through nature and movement. The biggest accolade I can give is my son being happy to go in every day. We all love this nursery and the staff.
While overall we are satisfied with the nursery, there are 2 areas of improvement: 1. The pickup procedure is not safe. Since the lockdown, parents are (still) not allowed into the nursery and are required to queue outside on a narrow pavement. For those picking up with their older children, this creates a safety problem as the traffic is quite busy around the pickup time. I’ve seen a child almost getting hit by a passing car. 2. Communication is pretty poor. Phone is never picked up during the drop-off / pick-up time. Messages on the app are not responded to. I’m happy to discuss this with the staff, but I and other parents have been raising these issues for a while now and haven’t got any resolution.
My son has been at the nursery since he was 18 months and he is now 4. He has experienced the care of babies/toddlers and now their pre-school setting and absolutely loves Riverside. The team are communicative, caring and personable. The setting is clean and modern has many amenities that I did not find when scoping other nurseries, and my research was extensive before settling here. The food, menu choices and variety are exceptional and give me peace of mind that my son is eating very well when in attendance. The application that the nursery uses to communicate with parents is really helpful and makes sharing messages with them super easy. I am 100% happy with the nursery and it’s a pleasure to see my son go in with such excitement every morning, and full of stories and experiences to share with me at the end of every day. I would recommend this nursery to all prospective parents time and time again.
We moved our daughter to Grosvenor House after a less-than-positive experience at another nursery. We were anxious about moving her but now wish we had done it sooner. The team worked so hard to settle our daughter and put our minds at ease. The staff really care about the children and you can see their genuine connections. We receive updates and pictures of what they’ve been up to and key developmental updates. Our daughter talks about the staff and her friends all of the time and her development has progressed so much during her time there.
I’ve been using the services of this nursery for the last 4.5 years since we moved in the area with our oldest daughter who was in babies 2 at the time. Also, my youngest is attending and is now in preschool. I can recommend this nursery for several reasons: - they listen to feedback and take action where necessary - food is healthy and good quality - kids are loved, and they receive cuddles based on their individual needs; no one is too old for cuddles here which is not the case in a nearby nursery - the developmental activities are really good, my two girls have grown to love baking, making food, tracking, learning letters etc. There’s good support for potty training and sleep issues - they learn lots on their regular walks and forest school, therefore, the lack of a garden hasn’t been an issue at all - the distance to the station is great for working parents and so does the option to extend the hours
Best nursery ever. Our child loves going there, even though she is very shy, now she has made new friends and treats the teachers as friends. The app is ideal for tracking when they sleep and what they eat.
Very welcoming and loving team. We have been very lucky to be able to bring our son to the nursery when he turned 3. He has been recently adopted and the team have been great to settle him in, to make him feel safe and welcome. Also gives us reassurance of how he's doing and he has really flourished.
Our daughter has been at Grosvenor House for a year now, two days a week, since she was 11 months old and she couldn’t love it more. From the office staff who greet her (in particular!) to the key workers in each room, everyone has a smile on their face and this has meant we’ve never had tears at drop-off. She runs in eager to start her day at nursery and see everyone. She loves circle time and has so much fun singing and then running about with the soft balls etc out front. The nursery takes cleanliness and sickness very seriously and will always message parents with updates if someone in the room has fallen poorly. This allows us to mitigate illness, which we haven’t experienced much of in comparison with other friends at different nurseries. We’d recommend Grosvenor House to anyone considering nursery care for their children.
My two children attend Riverside Nursery (Grosvenor House) and I would absolutely recommend it. Friendly, caring and engaging staff and great communication with parents. I love that the kids are taken out and get to know the local area. I can rest easily knowing that my children are in good hands.
My son joined at thirteen months old and since then he has loved coming to nursery. Even when it comes to weekends he asks to go to nursery! Good range of activities. The staff know my son very well and I couldn’t thank them enough for the care they give.
My son attended Riverside Nursery Schools, Grosvenor House from October 2021 to February 2023, starting in Babies 1 and moving through to Tweenies. I cannot rate Grosvenor House highly enough. The entire team were caring, considerate and supportive, not to mention having a thorough understanding of my son’s personality and his journey. My son flourished there; learning, making friends and creating bonds with his practitioners. One day, I was able to take a sneak peak at my son as he enjoyed an activity, he looked sublimely happy with his peers which was a joy to behold. Unfortunately, we left the nursery in February 2023 to relocate to Australia. To this day, my son talks about his friends and his favourite practitioner. These people truly made an impact and became like an extension of our family. For any parent who is nervous about their child starting day care, please consider Grosvenor House. As a parent, you’ll be listened to and well informed and your child will be nurtured and loved. Thank you all at Grosvenor House!
Both our son and daughter have attended Riverside, Grosvenor House, for a number of years. The staff are always friendly and accommodating and take a keen interest in our little ones. Our son can be a little shy but he's been coaxed from his shell and loves going in. My daughter left 2 years ago and still runs to give the staff a hug whenever we collect our son. It's a great nursery school.
