WHAT WE ARE LEARNING - WEEK COMMENCING 8TH DECEMBER 2025

Clever Cats This week in Clever Cats we are going to be looking at the Christmas story. We will be starting our Christmas crafts and making Christmas cards. The Clever Cats will be looking at the letter J and Jesus. The Clever Cats will be understanding the meaning of Christmas and understanding why we celebrate it. Don’t forget Tuesday 9th December is our Christmas sing along at St Christopher’s Church! Our song of the week is ‘3 Wise Men’ and our story of the week is ‘Love Came Down’.

Clever Kittens This week in Clever Kittens we will be looking at the meaning behind Christmas and the story of Christmas. The Clever Kittens will be learning about Jesus and who he is. The Clever Kittens will be creating stars to guide the Three Wise Men. Our song of the week is ‘Little Donkey’ and our book of the week is ‘The Nativity’.

Ladybirds Next week The Ladybirds will be looking at Christmas and focusing on stars! We will be singing the song ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star’ and starting to learn the signs for it! The children will be able to explore in the playdough area and play with the yellow scented playdough while talking about the smell of Frankincense and myrrh. They will also be exploring in the tuff tray filled with sand and glitter stars, talking about the different feelings and colours! 

Butterflies Next week in the Baby Room, we will enjoy a cozy Christmas-themed time together! We’ll read a Nativity storybook and let the babies explore the characters during story time. We’ll also sing Christmas songs like ‘Silent Night’ and ‘Away In A Manger’ while gently rocking our little ones. The children will explore a nativity themed sensory basket filled with safe, soft items such as a star plush, swaddling cloths and baby safe bells. To finish we’ll create a special keepsake using handprints or footprint art - angel wings, a star or even Baby Jesus in the manger. It will be a sweet and meaningful celebration of the Christmas Story.
