WHAT WE ARE LEARNING - WEEK COMMENCING 3RD NOVEMBER 2025

Next week we will be -

Clever Cats This week we in going to be looking at Bonfire Night and fire safety! The Clever Cats will be melting marshmallows on a fire and enjoying a yummy treat! We will also be reading ‘Frances the Firefly’ and learning how to keep safe around fire! Our song of the week is ‘5 Little Firemen’ and our book of the week is ‘Frances The Firefly’.

Clever Kittens This week in the Clever Kittens we will be looking at fireworks! The Clever Kittens will be making their own fireworks using patterns. The Clever Kittens will also be working on their gross motor skills moving like fireworks in the garden! Our song of the week is ‘Whizz, Bang, Pop’ and our book of the week is ‘Frances The Firefly’.

Ladybirds Next week the Ladybirds will be looking at Bonfire Night! We will be exploring a sensory filled tuff tray with red, orange and yellow jelly with cereal hoops to mimic fire and logs! The children will also be able to put out a “fire” using water spray bottles to learn about fire safety. We will also be exploring with red and orange coloured playdough with sticks and leaves that we find on our daily walk to create our own unique bonfires! The Ladybirds will also then be listening and reading a cosy bonfire story while cuddled up in the reading den with our teddies!

Butterflies Next week in the Baby Room, the Butterflies will be exploring the magic of Bonfire Night through calming lights, textures and sounds. In our cosy glow den, the babies will enjoy the warm colours and twinkling lights, helping them feel safe, curious and ready to explore their surroundings. We’ll sing firework songs and play with colourful scarves to build early listening and communication skills. The babies will also explore a sparkly sensory tuff tray filled with foil, ribbons and lights, encouraging them to reach, grasp and strengthen their muscles through sensory play. To finish the week, the Butterflies will practice their early mark-making skills as they create their own beautiful Bonfire pictures.
