We are delighted to announce that our Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool in Brislington has achieved a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating in its most recent inspection.

This well-deserved rating reflects the passion and commitment of the nursery team who work hard every day to help children learn, grow and thrive in a warm, nurturing environment.

The recent report praised many key aspects of the 80-place setting which scored Good across all four of Ofsted’s key categories, Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development and Leadership and Management

“Children are resilient and motivated learners”

Staff effectively help children build their communication skills. They sing nursery rhymes and read familiar stories, encouraging children to use their imaginations to create new versions and helping to extend their language as they discuss their ideas. As children enjoy developing their expressive arts and design skills through mark making, staff build on their interests by listening to their thoughts. As a result, children feel valued and proudly show off their creations.

“Children benefit from effective care practices that prioritise their well-being"

Staff help children to feel safe and secure in the nursery environment. For example, ensuring they have a safe and calm sleeping environment where they can properly rest. Staff work closely with families to understand children’s sleep routines, providing warm cuddles if needed and staying until children are settled. The key-person system is well-established at this nursery and supports children at every stage of their learning journey.

“Children develop well and feel confident to try new things”

The adapted curriculum has recently evolved to ensure its broad, balanced and helps children secure the knowledge and skills they need for future learning. Physical development is promoted across the different age groups with staff assisting children in taking risks independently. This allows them to manage their own safety well. Children’s curiosity is captured through sensory experiences. Older children enthusiastically mix dough with their hands and choose which scents and flowers to add.

“Leaders take effective action to support staff workload and well-being"

Leaders within the nursery listen to the views expressed by staff and parents and ensure that any feedback is swiftly responded to and concerns are properly addressed. They also see staff training and development as a high priority and work together with other nurseries to provide coaching and mentoring. This helps staff to develop their practice on key areas of the curriculum.

The report also found a positive and reflective culture at Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool in Brislington where leaders, staff and families all work together to ensure children flourish.

Stephanie Hearn, Nursery Manager at Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool in Brislington comments, “We are exceptionally proud of the team at Brislington. The passion, dedication and excitement that they bring each day is incredible! Congratulations to everyone."
