WHAT WE ARE LEARNING - WEEK COMMENCING 15TH SEPTEMBER 2025

Next week we will be -

Clever Cats Next week in Clever Cats we are going to be looking at Autumn and how the change in the season affects outdoors. We are also going to be looking at hedgehogs and what hibernation means. The Clever Cats will be learning all about gratitude and what it means with Oaky Owl. We will also be taking part in Harvest and harvesting vegetables from our garden! Our book of the week is ‘The Colour Monster’ and our song of the week is the ‘Hedgehog In The Leaves’.

Clever Kittens Next week in the Clever Kittens we will be using our fine motor skills to trap pine cones with elastic bands and looking at the change in season. The Clever Kittens will also learning all about the brain with MyHappyMinds and effective ways to calm themselves down. Our song of the week is ‘The Owl Goes Hoot’ and our book of the week is ‘The Colour Monster’.

Ladybirds Next week, the Ladybirds will be enjoying a variety of Autumn and Harvest activities. We will go on leaf hunts, collect conkers, and dance like falling leaves! The children will be exploring real Harvest vegetables such as pumpkins, corn, and carrots, and we will have conversations about how our food grows.

We will also make our own Autumn Book with leaves and pictures, practise counting with Autumn treasures, and have lots of fun printing and creating with leaves. Through stories and songs, the children will be learning new seasonal words, which will help to build their language and confidence. 

Butterflies Next week in the Baby Room we will be looking at Harvest. The Butterflies will be looking at an interactive book being able to use their fine motor skills to pull the carrots out of the carrot patch. For messy play the Butterflies will be making harvest soup with different smells, textures, pouring, mixing and banging. Our song of the week will be ‘One Potato’.
