Happy Days Nursery & Pre-School Falmouth is proud to announce that it has retained its ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted following its latest inspection, with inspectors praising the nursery’s caring ethos, high-quality teaching, and commitment to children’s development.

The report highlights the strong bonds formed between children and staff, the bespoke settling-in plans that ensure a smooth start for every child, and the ambitious curriculum that supports communication, language, and social development. Inspectors described the nursery as a place where “children are highly confident and motivated learners,” and where staff are “consistently improving” their practice through strong leadership and professional development.

The report also celebrates the nursery’s success in supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and its effective use of funding to ensure positive outcomes for disadvantaged children.

Children at Happy Days Falmouth are not only making strides in their learning but also building a strong sense of community and respect for diversity, participating in local events like Falmouth Carnival and Falmouth Week as part of their broader learning experience.

Kate Bower, Nursery Manager at Happy Days Falmouth, said: “I am extremely proud of my team for their dedication to providing the children with the best opportunities to learn and develop daily. I think the report is a testament to the team’s hard work and shows just how much they support the wonderful children in our care. I’m excited for what’s to come here at Falmouth.”

The report acknowledged the nursery’s strengths in helping children become confident communicators, with staff using thoughtful questions, sign language, and engaging conversations to support language development, even introducing toddlers to ambitious vocabulary like “seasoning” during play.

Staff are praised for supporting positive behaviour, helping children understand and follow the nursery’s “golden rules,” while partnerships with parents are described as strong and supportive. Initiatives such as the nursery’s four month school readiness programme ensure that children are well prepared for the next stage of their educational journey.

Overall, the nursery was commended for its safe and nurturing environment, underpinned by a positive safeguarding culture.

The Happy Days Falmouth team remains committed to continuous improvement and providing every child with the best start in life.
