Welcome to all new families to Banana Moon Hatton who have joined in January and who will also be joining in February. And welcome to the children who have moved to their new rooms – they are all settling in well. Baby News:
Congratulations to the Moore family on the safe arrival of Chloe. A lovely little sister for Olivia who is in the Toddler Room. Banana Moon Hatton are sure Olivia will be a great 'big sister'! Congratulations to Eddie Oldham (in the Toddler Room) who received a Highly Commended certificate for his Christmas card design from Mini Me cards. Eddie’s design was chosen from over 30,000 cards! Well done Eddie, the nursery are very proud of you and your artistic skills!
Safety of children:
Please can Banana Moon Hatton remind all parents to slow down when entering the nursery grounds and car park. The children are often walking to the paddock for outdoor play, and/or with their parents going to and from their cars. Thank you.
Also, just a gentle reminder too to ask that you do not let anyone into the nursery at the main door please. All parents and visitors are able to access the nursery either by the biometric finger print system or by using the doorbell. Thank you for your co-operation with this.
Day Nurseries Reviews:
daynurseries.co.uk is the UK website for nurseries. The nursery would appreciate it please if you would complete a daynurseries.co.uk review for them. You can find the review cards by the main front door. Please complete one and return it direct to daynurseries.co.uk. Thank you for your support.
Nursery Opening and Closing times:
Just a gentle reminder to all parents to say that the nursery opens at 7.30 am and closes at 6.30 pm. Morning sessions are from 7.30 am to 1.00 pm, and afternoon sessions are from 1.00 pm to 6.30 pm. You will appreciate that the nursery cannot go over the child to staff ratio if parents arrive late after the morning session finishes at 1.00 pm or arrive too early for the afternoon session which starts at 1.00 pm. Staff would appreciate please if all parents could keep to these times. Thank you.
Sainsbury’s Active Kids!
It is that time of year again! Banana Moon Hatton are collecting Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers to save up for more fun equipment for the nursery. The voucher collection box is in the front foyer of the nursery. The nursery does appreciate your support!
Dandy Development:
Dandy Development is the award winning new baby and toddler development class that combines baby sign, music and sensory fun. Banana Moon Hatton has established a relationship with Dandy Development and Nikki from Dandy Development will be visiting the nursery after the Easter holidays to lead sessions with the children in the Baby Room and Teenies Room. Staff will be in touch with parents with children in these rooms with further details in due course. The nursery is looking forward to joining in the fun with DandyLion to support in the development of the children’s language and communication and listening skills together with their social and emotional skills, and build their co-ordination and confidence skills, as well stimulating their senses and imagination.
Nikki is also going to train the staff team in these key skills, and Banana Moon Hatton will be the first nursery in the UK to be accredited as a Dandy Development nursery, which they are very excited about! Christmas Photos:
Severine (Emilie-Rose White’s Mum) very kindly took lots of really special photos from our Christmas Shows in December. Thank you so much Severine – the nursery really does appreciate you taking the time to produce such fantastic memories of special times! The nursery are putting all the photos into an album, which will be available for all parents to look at. If there is a photo of your child that you would like to order, then please let staff know. They will then arrange for copies to be made. All the nursery would ask is that you make a donation please to their chosen charity Zoe’s Place. All donations can be put in the Zoe’s Place collection tin by the front door. Thank you.
Tesco’s Farm to Fork Programme:
Banana Moon Hatton are continuing their strong relationship with Tesco through Sarah Wrist who is the Community Champion at Tesco. Sarah has visited the nursery on a number of occasions to support the various activities at nursery. Tesco’s Farm to Fork programme aims to encourage healthy eating in schools and nurseries. Last week, Sarah visited the Teenie Room to support the Teenies theme of senses. The children tried lots of different tastes – some they enjoyed and some there were not quite sure of! Sarah has also kindly offered raffle prize donations to any of the families who are involved in charity work. Do let the nursery know, and they can give you Sarah’s contact details.
Additional days at Nursery:
If you require additional days or sessions for your child/ren, please put this request in an email to info@bananamoon-hatton.co.uk. They will always try to do their best to accommodate requests, but cannot always guarantee them! Please give as much notice as possible too! Thank you! Ready, Steady…Listen!
Is Usborne Book’s simple sponsored listening challenge, aimed at children who are not yet ready to read independently. It’s a great event that can introduce the importance of sharing books at home to parents, help you to promote literacy AND get FREE BOOKS for the nursery.
The more stories the children listen to, the more money they will raise to buy books for the nursery. Plus, on top of this, Banana Moon Hatton can earn extra free books from Usborne.
Working closely with Sarah Swan at Usborne Books, the nursery has decided to take part in Ready, Steady … Listen! Their sponsored story listening event will link to World Book Day which is on the 3rd March 2016, and will take place from Monday 29th February to Friday 4th March. More details will be sent to all parents. They hope you will take part!
