Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and passionate Care Manager to oversee the strategic and operational leadership of our Children’s Day Nursery. The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of care, education, and safeguarding for children aged 0-5 years, while leading a high-performing team and supporting continuous development across the nursery setting. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, supporting staff development, ensuring compliance with Ofsted and EYFS standards, and delivering exceptional service to children and families.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Management

· Lead, inspire and support a team of nursery staff including , Room Leaders and Practitioners.

· Drive a culture of excellence, inclusion, and professional growth within the nursery.· Manage staff recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisals, and training in line with HR policies.

· Promote high standards of childcare practice, ensuring the curriculum meets the needs of all children

· Ensure smooth day-to-day running of the nursery, including staff rotas, room ratios, and nurseryroutines.

· Monitor and evaluate nursery practices through audits, observations, and action plans.

· Lead and respond effectively to inspections, ensuring that recommendations are actioned.

· Uphold and promote safeguarding procedures and be the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) orsupport the DSL team as appropriate.

· Ensure all policies and procedures are up to date, implemented, and communicated effectively

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Person Specification Essential Qualifications & Experience · Level 3 qualification (or above) in Childcare
  • Early Years Education. · Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a role within an early years setting. · Sound knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Ofsted requirements
