Job Summary
We are seeking a strong, proactive Deputy Nursery Manager to support the leadership and day-to-day running of Playtime Daycare Dagenham. The successful candidate will be confident in driving high standards of education and care, supporting staff development, and ensuring compliance with the EYFS, safeguarding legislation, and Ofsted Outstanding criteria.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring exceptional standards across the setting.

• Lead and mentor staff, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality teaching and care.

• Model outstanding practice in planning, observations, and assessments.

• Support internal audits, safeguarding reviews, and preparation for Ofsted inspections.

• Build excellent relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies.

• Ensure all policies, procedures, and statutory frameworks are followed consistently.

• Manage staff rotas, key person responsibilities, and room organisation.

• Handle parent enquiries, admissions, and support with administrative duties where required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Level 3 or above in Childcare/Early Years (Level 5 preferred but not essential).

• Proven experience in a senior or supervisory early years role.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational abilities.

• Deep knowledge of safeguarding, SEND, EYFS, and Ofsted requirements.

• Ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor a diverse team.
