Deputy Nursery Manager

Job summary

Leo's Den is a 64 capacity OFSTED "Good" nursery close to London Bridge in SE London.

We are looking for a Deputy Manager to join our existing team as one of our senior management team is retiring in September. Your role will be to oversee our 3 floors of classroom areas and to lead from the front in terms of making sure that the activities are well organised and the nursery day runs smoothly.

You will have a minimum of a Level 3 early years qualification plus at least 2 years supervisory experience within a good size nursery.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the EYFS framework are adhered to including all aspects of safeguarding and maintenance of ratios. You will also ensure that staff are monitored and encouraged, mentoring is given where needed, and we ensure that our children are looked after in a warm, safe educational environment. We will also ensure that you are given adequate training to ensure your own personal development is maintained.

We have very strong training programmes and we use both Noodle and NDNA training for our staff's development. Ideally you be the figurehead of this training and will organise and give time for training within the working day.

We also use the Famly software system for all aspects of day to day reporting and activities, and you will also liaise with the Room Leaders to ensure that observations are correctly undertaken and updated.
