Job description
A small and cosy Preschool seeks a Level 2/3 qualified nursery practitioner to work with children aged from 2 to 5 years.
Typical responsibilities include:
· To promote the aims and objectives of the setting.
· To always promote the high standards of the setting to parents/carers, staff and visitors.
· To assist the manager in showing parents/carers around the setting facilities and sending out information.
· To ensure the setting maintains a high standard of physical and emotional care.
· To lead a team of professional workers and to always ensure good practice.
· To assist the manager in setting and implementing objectives and policy for the setting.
· To assist with the planning and organisation of staffing schedules and holiday rotas to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained in accordance with Local Authority guidelines and setting procedures.
· To assist with the implementation of administrative procedures involved with: - registration, place allocation, and other related matters.
· To assist with the development and implementation of systems to monitor and record child development.
· To assist with the preparation and maintenance of materials and equipment.
· To be responsible for the Health and Safety standards appropriate for the needs of young children and ensuring staff compliance and awareness.
· To ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are always maintained.
· To ensure the setting maintains a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development.
· Maintaining staff awareness of fire drills in accordance with the code of practice.
· To attend monthly staff/planning meetings and training sessions outside working hours.
· To ensure confidentiality of information received.
· dressing, feeding, changing, and washing children.
· providing a safe, interesting and stimulating environment
· entertaining children
· organising and supervising play and work activities such as reading, cooking, music, and dancing.
· taking children out to the park and on visits
· liaising with parents/carers and professionals such as social workers, teachers, speech therapists and health visitors

· Tidying up involves cleaning, sweeping, mopping and cleaning bathrooms/toilets.
Applicants must have at least two years of paid work experience in a nursery, an NVQ Level 3 in childcare and a current DBS/CRB. English level 2 is essential. To apply, you must have a genuine love for children and be willing to undergo a session trial.
This Role is Term-time only. Working hours are 9.00 am to 3.00 pm, Monday to Friday.
