Thank you for the positive comments about the good care your son received while attending The Brampton Day Nursery.

Regarding the nursery staff, I do feel it important to add more detail to your observations. In the time that your son attended the nursery the long standing nursery manager departed for maternity leave, she was replaced in the immediate term by the nursery deputy acting up. This was a short term solution until a longer term replacement was transferred from another nursery setting. She came from a Wigwam nursery and was therefore fully conversant with our policies and procedures. She had also previously been a room leader and deputy manager at The Brampton Day Nursery. Regarding the different key workers your son had, it is unfortunate that, again two members of staff from your son's base room had departed on maternity leave and therefore there was a transitional period while replacement staff were integrated. While all of us would like staff stability, there are of course periods when it is very challenging to achieve; what is more important is the quality of the staff and as you have indicated, the care your son received was of a good standard.

Regarding your assertion about funded hours, it is not the case. The information on our website makes that very clear. The nursery does retain a right to apply a suitable charge for services provided that are not covered by the funding offer from the local authority. This includes all meals or snacks and consumable items.

We also reserve the right to make the funded hours available at times/days that suit the nursery offer. I am sorry that on this occasion we could not meet your requested flexibility, resulting in you withdrawing your son from the nursery.

Thank you again for your comments,

Yours sincerely
