Thank you for taking the time to review. As discussed in person, that evening before you came inside for your son's parents evening the front door to the nursery had been monitored by staff. This was to welcome parents in and show them to the room in which their child's key person was waiting. Unfortunately, as you arrived at the door management were showing a family to their room. As you can appreciate parents evenings can be a very busy time which resulted in your temporary wait at the door. However, within minutes we invited you in to start your son's parents evening where his mother was waiting for you.

Also discussed that evening, it was possible that it looked like the staff could see you waiting, however, as you know when it is dark outside but lights on inside you see a reflection rather than objects or people, so maybe it was just a misunderstanding. It was suggested that this is what had happened initially which resulted in the temporary wait outside. After speaking with all the staff that evening, unfortunately, they just didn't see you to let you in due to it being dark.

Safeguarding our children, families and staff is paramount. We encourage parents not to let others in behind them and to ask them to wait for a member of staff to let them in. We have had positive feedback from parents regarding this as they understand the importance of safeguarding and are happy that we are keeping their children safe. We do have a couple of new staff and from time to time on our busier days, we may have support workers helping. These members of staff may not yet know all of the parents and we ask that if they are not sure to inform management so that checks can be carried out. This follows our Safeguarding policies and procedures which we are very proud of as the safety of the children always comes first.

Head Office is currently addressing the lighting so that there will be additional lighting on the car park so hopefully this will make a difference for future darker evenings and mornings.

I am happy you decided to come in to the nursery for your son’s parents evening so the staff could share all of the fantastic progress your son has achieved. I'm pleased you enjoyed looking through his learning journey and spent time with the room staff talking about his milestones and development.
Your feedback is important to us as we aim for outstanding parent partnership. Please feel free to speak to management if you have any further feedback.
