Thank you for taking the time to review our Wyken Pre-school, we value your feedback as it supports us to move forward and continually improve our services for all children and families.  With regards to the comments, you have made I would like to inform you below of what we have put into place as a result.  <br>"I think the staff change hasn't been helpful.  It's come at the wrong time".<br>As with any change, timing is never easy.  The staff changes were made to the setting due to a number of reasons including staff moving to different positions in the company, staff choosing to pursue other careers and staff going on Maternity Leave.  I am aware that change can be very unsettling however we have used this opportunity to strengthen the team at Wyken.  We now have staff in place who hold higher qualifications and have vast experience of managerial roles as well as vast experience of working directly with young children particularly in the areas of SEN.  Some of the staff had already been working at Wyken as bank staff and therefore were familiar with the setting and the children attending.  We feel the staff changes that have been made have had a very positive impact on the setting and as a result the children.   <br><br>"It would be helpful to be informed more about events, dress up days etc".<br>I have seen that you are an avid user of our facebook page and often leave comments and communicate with our staff through this page.  This is a great way to communicate with the setting about what is happening.  There is a requirement in place for all settings to post at least twice weekly regarding what the children are doing and on top of this to publish event schedules and newsletters.  There are also signs displayed around the setting and letters going home for any events which are to be held.  <br><br>"I'd like to see the learning book more often and it updated more".  <br>Learning journals are available at all times for parents to view/add to.  Termly parents evenings will be held were you can view your child's learning journal and speak to your child's keyworker.  However you do not have to wait for these parents evenings you can ask to view your child's file at any time.  We are currently trailing a new online journal at some of our other settings which if successful will also be rolled out at Wyken Pre-school.  This notifies you every time an observation is collected on your child so you can view in real time what your child is doing.  You can also add comments to observations and send them back to us so you are an active partner in your child's learning.  Hopefully this along with parents evening and facebook posts will give you a real grasp of what your child gets up to each day.
