We apologise that you were unhappy with the SEN support received. After reviewing this further, your speech and language request/referral was discussed with yourself and submitted in a timely manner. However, the Local Authority choose to change their speech and language service this caused significant delays in cases being actioned. The manager has been in regular commucntaion with SLT about speeding up cases. However, STL have failed to set/ provide assessment dates. The manager has escalated this. We can appreciate this process can be frustrating, however we do support all children across the setting to the best of our abilities, including children with SEN. The referral process for EHCP's does take time unfortunately, particularly the evidence gathering from professionals. The delays are caused by the high level of SEN across Halton and their ability to action these within a responsible time. We can confirm your child's EHCP has been applied on time in preparation for school.
