The communication published to all parents via our Famly app was clear, transparent and comprehensive giving parents all the detail required to make an informed decision regarding their consumables. We have received overwhelming feedback from all other parents in support of the action we have taken. Safeguarding of children in our care is our highest priority and we will never compromise on this. Since the DfE announcement at the end of February, it has taken time to create new policies that meets both the requirements of the funding entitlements as well as ensuring that all children remain safe, particularly at mealtimes. You did not inform us by the stated deadline that you wished to opt out of consumables, and this was communicated to you, but nonetheless, chose to bring in a packed lunch the following week for your child that contravened our policy and healthy eating guidelines. We wish you and your family good luck for the future.
