However, illness is an unforeseen circumstance that cannot be planned for, and our staffing team still turn up to ensure we meet legal staff-to-child ratios and maintain the high standards of care we provide. Similar to when a family goes on holiday, contracted sessions must still be paid as you are securing your childs place at the nursery. That said, we do deduct additional costs, such as food, if notice is given in line with our holiday policy. If fees were adjusted for absences due to sickness or holidays, it could lead to financial instability, as there would be no way to verify such claims, potentially impacting the continuity of the nurserys operations.
