We listen to parents/carers and work as a team to ensure the best for the children, parents and staff here at nursery. When parents bring something to our attention we will action it the best we can, and one way of communicating is to put a sign on the doors for reminders to all parents/carers (after verbal chats have been had), for example there are signs up today regarding photo day, as a big nursery with lots of busy parents, general feedback has been that parents prefer notes on the doors to serve as reminders. The note regarding collection times is a reminder to parents/carers and it does state if any parents would like to talk about their child's sessions they are more than welcome to do so, so we can support the best we can. Please note that these policies and procedures are already implemented. The parking sign was also stemmed from a conversation management had with a parent where we implemented a disabled bay for a parent who was struggling, again this was from a supportive measure and to remind parents of being mindful when parking. Of course you can only speak for yourself as a parent, but as you are aware we run off ratios, and if we do not have availability for children to attend extra sessions then unfortunately we cannot accept additional days as the safety of our children is paramount.
In regards to funding, as the Local Authority states, the funding does not cover food etc therefore there is an additional charge for this as is the same in other nurseries. We do not recommend packed lunches for a number of reasons such as allergies of other children, children having different food to each other (a child may see another child eating something they don't have which may cause upset), the child eating the packed lunch may feel sad they do not have what everyone else has.
