Our puddings are all low sugar, and we follow the government guidelines on healthy eating for under fives. The advice is that children need the calories that puddings provide - as children are constantly moving and growing, they need a more calorie-dense diet than adults, and because their tummies are so small, this means more calorie-dense foods, however, we ensure that our meals and puddings contain the least amount of sugar possible, and where possible we omit sugar entirely and rely on fruit or vegetables (such as carrot or beetroot in our cakes). Our menu was developed alongside a nutritionist, and all of our puddings are fruit or milk-based. I understand that you have already spoken with the nursery about this, but if you would like to chat with our chef, then that can be arranged - please let your nursery manager know if you would like to do this.
