Chopsticks and traditional Chinese writing are just some of the attractions at Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon during a week-long celebration to mark the Chinese New Year.
The children at the nursery ON Windmill Hill Business Park have immersed themselves in Chinese culture. They have been learning nursery rhymes, looking at books and listening to traditional music.
Nursery Manager Lora Worthington said,
‘The Chinese New Year offers a fantastic opportunity for to children to learn about different cultures and traditions. The children have writing in traditional Chinese characters and noodle tasting in the nursery in celebration of this important festival which is observed by people across the world.’
Lora added that staff and children were now looking forward to a year of wisdom, beauty, intelligence, pride and joy having satisfied all the traditional requirements for the start of a Chinese New Year.
