Bright Horizons Ely Day Nursery and Preschool has been rated as ‘Outstanding’ after receiving its recent Ofsted inspection.
The nursery received its inspection on December 7th and was rated as ‘Outstanding’ in all four areas of inspection: Effectiveness of the leadership and management; Quality of teaching, learning and assessment; Personal development, behaviour and welfare; Outcomes for children. Inspection activities included the inspector observing the quality of teaching during activities both indoors and outdoors and assessing the impact this had on children’s learning. Comments from the Ofsted report included:
• Teaching is consistently of a very high quality. Children flourish and thrive in the highly stimulating environment and from an early age develop an enthusiasm for learning. Staff’s assessment of children’s progress is precise. This enables staff to plan highly challenging learning experiences that ultimately help to prepare children for school.
• Children are extremely confident and feel secure at the nursery. They form strong relationships with staff who are excellent role models and work well together. Children behave well and show kindness and consideration for their friends.
• Self-evaluation is outstanding and firmly embedded in practice. The manager uses innovative ways to gain the opinions of everyone involved with the nursery and as a result, action plans are well targeted to continue the current high level of success.
“We are delighted to receive this Outstanding inspection grading from Ofsted,” said Nursery Manager Jess Knowles. “It is a pleasure to be part of an inspirational team who deliver exceptional childcare on a daily basis.”
