Kids Planet Beamont are pleased to announce they have been awarded Millie’s Mark. Millie’s Mark is awarded to nurseries that have 100% staff trained in paediatric first aid. The nursery is one of three in Warrington to have gained Millie’s Mark, this includes our Kids Planet Lymm nursery, and have worked extremely hard and each and every one of the staff are extremely pleased.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines, which childcare settings in England are required to follow, currently state that just one person with a current paediatric first aid certificate must be on the premises and available at all times when children are present or on outings. Millie's Mark is awarded as a special endorsement to childcare providers that go above and beyond these minimum requirements by having 100% of staff trained in paediatric first aid, and also ensuring that everything learned during the course is kept alive and in the forefront of practitioners’ minds so that they are confident, ready and capable.
When a setting gains the Millie's Mark accreditation, reassurance is provide for parents that all childcare practitioners know what to do in a paediatric first aid situation. It acknowledges that children’s safety is at the forefront our nursery’s mind when they care for children.
Jill Dutton, Nursery Manager said, ““ We are thrilled to have been awarded Millie’s Mark which means 100% of our staff at our nursery are fully trained in paediatric first aid. The safety and security of our children is one of our utmost priorities and are proud to have gained the Millie’s Mark Award”.
