A Runcorn Childcare Practitioner has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.
Gyongyi Kocsis - who has worked at Little Manor Private Day Nursery and Pre-school in Runcorn for 8 years - could be named ‘Nursery Nurse of the Year’ by Nursery Management Today Magazine.
Nursery Nurses from all over the UK were entered into the NMT Awards category with just 5 making it to the shortlist.
The 52-year-old - who lives in Runcorn but is originally from Hungary - will now have to travel to London to meet a panel of judges, who will decide who is to be named the UK’s best Nursery Nurse.
Gyongyi, said: “I was so surprised to find out that the Little Manor team and parents nominated me for this award!
“I always do the best I possibly can for the children in my care and I always will, so it’s great to have this recognised by the NMT and everyone at the nursery.”
Little Manor parents, staff and children wrote testimonials about Gyongyi and sent them to NMT, nominating her for the prestigious award.
A parent at Little Manor said:“My daughter talks about Little Manor all the time, and in particular Gyongyi.
"My daughter doesn’t connect like this with just anyone, which makes Gyongyi very special!
“Gyongyi is always happy and smiling and she is so helpful and friendly towards the children and parents. I truly believe that she cares for our children as much as we do as parents.”
