A six-month search for a new childcare job paid off for Kaylie Signe when she found herself at the doors of La Petit Fleur Pre-School and Nursery in Mitcham.
Nursery manager Ava Metha-Jamooji was delighted to take on Kaylie, particularly when she said that she wanted to continue her Apprenticeship Training with Smart Training.
"It felt like a fresh start and the training really helped me with my work," said Kaylie, who was 19 at the time. "I have gained loads more confidence with new ideas that I could take into the nursery and could put into practice every day."
Kaylie started training towards her childcare career at college but didn't enjoy it. "College just wasn't the right place for me," she said. "I seemed to spend most of my day on a computer, not with children!"
After finding a part-time nursery job she started with Smart Training attending once-a-month study groups on a Saturday and loved the hands-on approach of learning.
"My tutor, Amanda, was really helpful and getting my Level 3 Diploma in Childcare gave me the qualifications to help me really get on in my career."
