Bright Horizons Clapham Village nursery has been rated ‘good’ following its first Ofsted inspection.
The nursery, which is located a short walk from Clapham Common tube station on Brommels Road, received its inspection on August 8th and was rated as ‘Good’ in all four areas of inspection: Effectiveness of the leadership and management; Quality of teaching, learning and assessment; Personal development, Behaviour and welfare; Outcomes for children.
Inspection activities included the inspector carrying out a joint observation with the nursery manager, as well as speaking to parents. Throughout the inspection report the inspector was very complimentary of the nursery and observed excellent practice throughout all rooms. In particular, she was impressed by how the nursery team as a whole monitor children's progress and how they carry out regular observations and assessments in order to plan for individual children's learning effectively. The inspector further recognised how well children settle in the “safe, secure and welcoming nursery environment” and continued to praise the “happy and close relationships the children form with staff and one another”.
“I’m absolutely delighted that the dedication of the nursery team has been recognised in our first Ofsted report,” said Nursery Manager, Kathleen Philpott. “We will continue striving to ensure that we are constantly providing the best learning environment for the children in our care and seek to further enhance the nursery as we move forward.”
