Nineties pop sensation, Five, may have been the headline act but it was an Aylesbury day nursery team who stole the show in a ‘Best of the Best’ annual awards ceremony.
Named ‘Nursery Management Team of the Year’, the childcare and education experts at Grasshoppers Day Nursery in Wendover Road, collected their trophy at a ‘Bollywood-styled’ awards ceremony in Milton Keynes.
A shocked and delighted, Rachel Gooden, Grasshoppers Manager, said:
“We are passionate about our nursery and very lucky to have such dedicated professionals and wonderfully supportive parents helping us. We all work together and, as a result, our children thrive. That is the real reward,” she said.
Joining her on stage were Emma Hill, Deputy Manager, Natalie Griffey, Team Leader, and Aisling Fitzgerald, Team Leader, who were described by their Grasshoppers colleagues as “inspirational every day” and by parents as “highly skilled and caring professionals” and “Just Perfection.”
In nominating the team, two mothers wrote:
“I always feel relaxed knowing that my child is in safe hands. It is nice they look after the parents as well as the children.”
“They help us in so many ways to have a better understanding of our child’s progress. They have a warm and cheerful attitude towards parents and children.”
Judges praised the team for their commitment to quality and applauded initiatives like the intergenerational project between Grasshoppers and the nearby St. Leonards Residential Home with children and elderly residents visiting each other in both settings.
The gala evening featured a performance by ‘Five’ who performed for over 900 at Arena MK, Milton Keynes.
The trophy was presented by Mike Thompson, Chairman of the award-winning, employee-owned Childbase Partnership.
