International Children’s Day was marked at Pennypot Day Nursery in Chobham with a range of foods from near and afar.
Children have enjoyed designing and executing their very own sandwich creations using breads from around the world. They have also been food tasting from a variety of dishes from different countries.
The highlight of the week was a Teddy Bear’s Picnic where children were encouraged to come to nursery in party dress or their traditional international outfits.
Nursery Manager Carol McDonough said:
‘International Children’s Day is marked in nursery to promote the rights and wellbeing of children across the world. The children have enjoyed learning about different cultures through food tasting. This event, celebrated by the UN since 1950, reminds us of children globally who do not have the same opportunities and care that our children enjoy on a daily basis.”
