Children at Bright Horizons Bruntsfield Nursery in Edinburgh recently took part in their own storytelling session at Fountainbridge Library, after developing a strong interest in books.
As part of the session, the children decided to make up their own stories which they used their own names and character. The initiative was part of Bright Horizons’ Growing Readers enhancement.
“The children were all very to take part in the storytelling session,” said Nursery Manager Karen Bell. “They were excited to use themselves as characters and it was a good way to get them reading out loud to each other.”
The Growing Readers enhancement aims to cultivate a love of books and emphasise the importance of reading aloud.
