Children at Bright Horizons Crewe Day Nursery and Preschool have recently portrayed and interest in insects and spent time looking for them outside in the garden.
The children took part in a ‘Minibeasts Project’ and used magnifying glasses to observe their behaviour. Afterwards, they took part in some physical activity by pretending to be wiggly worms and running around like ants.
“The children also used this interest to continue their learning, drawing features of the insects that we have found and know,” said Nursery Manager Claire Chadwick. “This enhances the children’s learning of a part of the natural environment around them.”
